Flamengo was crowned champion of the Manlio Selis International Tournament, held in Sardinia, an island located in Italy. The Garotos do Ninho under-14 team beat none other than Milan, 2-1, in the final that took place at the Bruno Nespoli Stadium in Olbia . Jean Carlos scored the first goal, his 11th in the competition, and Kauã Lucas closed the score.
The semi-final classification happened hours before the final. Flamengo entered the field at 5 am (Brasília) this Monday (2) and applied its fifth rout in the competition, beating Genoa 5-0 . Curiously, the same opponent that gave the most trouble in the tournament and sold dearly the defeat of 3-2, in the group stage.
Six hours later, in the title decider, the red-and-black kids managed to hold their nerve from the start of the game and the goal didn't take long to come . In the 19th minute, top scorer Jean Carlos opened the scoring after a pass from Kauã Lucas. Ten minutes later, João Vitor scored, this time with an assist from Paulinho. Milan still reduced the deficit in the 6th minute of the second half, but that was it: 2-1 for Flamengo and another international trophy in their luggage.
The Boys from Ninho have enchanted Italy once again. Just over a month after winning the Fattorie Donna Giulia Youth Cup in the under-15 category, with a victory over Manchester City on Italian soil, Mengão won another international tournament in this country, with seven wins in seven games. And this time over the mighty Milan.
Another highlight of this achievement was the crushing 20-0 win over Budoni in the second round. Jean Carlos scored six goals, gave three assists and was the name of the game, which also had two hat tricks, by Moraes and Deivid.
The first rout was Flamengo's calling card: 6-0 over Club Romano , in the tournament's debut. In the round of 16, Pisa was the victim in a 4-0 defeat and, later, the Garotos do Ninho repeated the score against Cagliari, sealing their spot in the semifinals . Since last Wednesday (28), in Italy, more precisely on the Island of Sardinia, the red-black delegation returns to Rio this Tuesday (3).
Released by Bahia, the player will now have a new chance to prove himself at Tricolor and Mengão will not be entitled to the value of the deal.

A Libertadores and U-20 World Cup winner with Flamengo in 2024, 19-year-old right-back Lucyan has been announced as São Paulo's new signing . He had transferred to Bahia in March of this year but was released in August for disciplinary reasons.
With the agreement with São Paulo, Flamengo loses the 30% of the economic rights it had retained in the negotiations with the Bahia club. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande. Lucyan signed a contract valid until June 30, 2028, with São Paulo , with a release clause of 80 million euros (approximately R$506 million at the current exchange rate).
With no room at Flamengo , the full-back had signed with Bahia until December 2027, in a deal at no cost to the Bahia club, but which kept 30% of his rights tied to the Rubro-Negro. The fine, at the time, had been set at 100 million euros (R$600 million).
The stint, however, was short-lived. In August, Bahia issued an official statement confirming the termination: " Esporte Clube Bahia SAF announces the release of right-back Lucyan . The U-20 player joined the club in March 2025 and played 16 matches for the Pivetes de Aço."
A Flamengo youth product since the U-15s, Lucyan excelled in 2024, starting in the final stretch of the Copa Libertadores, including the final against Boca Juniors (ARG) . At the U-20 World Cup, he served as a reserve for Filipe Luís's team, which defeated Olympiacos (GRE) in the final. The full-back left Flamengo at the beginning of this season, when he was released by Bahia.
The defender is a great highlight of Mengão's under-20 team and has been gaining value in the eyes of the fans and the market, which has caught the team's attention.

Volta Redonda is closely monitoring the development of defender Iago , a Flamengo alumnus who is now one of the most promising youngsters in the club's youth academy. Volta Redonda discovered the defender while still in the U-15s and retains 40% of his economic rights , while Flamengo holds the majority.
The contract stipulates that the Gávea club can acquire an additional 10% of the rights for R$500,000. The board is considering exercising this option , a move seen as strategic, as the youngster is expected to gain even more prominence in the coming years.

He's under contract with Flamengo until December 2026, which guarantees the club contract security . In 2025, Iago had made 29 appearances for the U-20 team, playing 2,546 minutes, scoring seven goals, and providing one assist—rare numbers for a defender . In the U-20 Libertadores, he was the team's top scorer, scoring four goals.
In the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, he played 16 games, scoring four goals and providing one assist . For the Brazilian Under-20 National Team, he appeared in six South American matches, starting five, scoring two goals.
According to Sofascore, Iago finished the South American U-20 Championship with an average of 7.28 points per game . He made 41 defensive actions, won 20 of 31 duels (65%), and had outstanding aerial performance, winning 16 of 20 duels (80%). Considered one of the best talents in the youth academy, Iago is already generating expectations to join Flamengo's professional squad soon.

This Saturday (23) will be decisive for Flamengo's youth team. The red-black team faces Barcelona, from Spain, in the final of the U-20 Club World Cup , at Maracanã. Current two-time champion of the Libertadores in the category, the team also defends the world title won in 2024, when they beat Olympiacos, from Greece, 2-1, in a comeback. That year, the team was led by Filipe Luís, now coach of the professional squad.
A large crowd is expected. So far, around 33,000 tickets have been sold for the final , and the organizers expect to surpass the competition's all-time record, held by the match between Peñarol (URU) and Benfica (POR), with 40,000 fans. In total, 35,000 tickets were made available for the match.
According to tournament organizers, if the match ends in a draw after regulation time, the champion will be decided by penalty kicks, as there will be no extra time. The fans are in a state of anticipation, promising to pack the Maracanã stadium to cheer on the young athletes in pursuit of a second consecutive world title.
