FLAMENGO SOLD 300 MILLION IN PLAYERS THIS SEASON AND NOW CAN REINFORCE THE 2024 CAST

The year 2023 for Flamengo may have been one of many defeats on the field, but in the transfer market, it was certainly prosperous. During this season the club profited almost 300 million reais just from the sale and loan of players. The club's cash flow was still 200 million reais, which leaves annual income at half a billion.

According to UOL portal journalist Rodrigo Mattos, the red-black board still assesses that there is a stock of athletes at the base, who can still contribute immensely to ensure that sales revenue does not decrease over the years. A good example in this case is the player Igor Jesus, who is being watched by several European clubs.

Mattos also includes that the cash of almost 500 million reais, with which Mengão ends the 2023 season, will help with investment in the squad for next season, since the directors' plan is to reformulate the club.

However, it is necessary to point out that the red and black board does not want to do crazy things during 2024, since Rodolfo Landim will be leaving. Even though coach Tite arrived at the team generating a lot of expectation and anxiety, the objective is not to take risks in the next transfer window, which opens in Brazil in January, on the 15th, and runs until April 4th.

A meeting will be held in mid-November with the Flamengo Deliberative Council. In this, the representatives will present the budget plan planned for 2024, which will be subject to approval. Mengão's strategy will be to try to balance revenue from player sales with purchases from new athletes. Furthermore, they will not bet on 'unlimited investment'.
