Feeling well is fundamental in the fight against cancer, but the complexity of treatment often makes this difficult. With this in mind, Flamengo's Social Responsibility department was, last Wednesday (18), at the specialized breast cancer unit of the National Cancer Institute (INCA), located in Vila Isabel, North Zone of Rio, to carry out a action aimed at women with breast cancer. Around 50 women, including patients and companions, received makeup and hairstyles from a team of professional makeup artists. The objective was to strengthen self-esteem and confidence, through self-care, to overcome the side effects of treatment and remain strong in the battle against cancer.

The mascot Binho was also present at the action, who took photos and spread joy among the patients, as well as employees of the Flamengo Museum who, throughout the month, carried out a campaign to collect milk cans and handkerchiefs in favor of INCAvoluntário, the social arm of the National Cancer Institute, at the Cancer Hospital Unit III. In total, 150 cans of milk and 52 scarves were donated, which will be destined for families in vulnerable situations assisted by INCAvoluntário.

During the action, Mais Querido delivered a shirt signed by the professional football team.

Breast cancer is the type that most affects women around the world. For the year 2022, 66,280 new cases were estimated and the objective of the Pink October campaign is to share information and promote awareness about breast cancer. In this way, we can contribute to reducing the incidence and mortality from the disease, observing the recommendations of the Ministry of Health for prevention, early diagnosis and tracking of the disease.
