Speculated as a possible reinforcement of Flamengo to fill the gap left by Pedro, striker Anthony Martial is free on the market, but has not played since December 9, 2023. On that occasion, Manchester United, his former club, entered the field to face Bournemouth and lost 3-0 in the Premier League. Martial was a starter and played for 56 minutes.

At the beginning of the year, the French striker suffered a groin injury that required surgery. Therefore, he was away for around 42 days, only returning in March. Even though there were three months left on his contract, Manchester United chose to let go of the player. Since then, Martial has been evaluating his next club and Flamengo is paying attention to his movements.

Just like Flamengo, Anthony Martial suffered from injuries in 2023/24. The star had several physical problems that kept him away from the field for a total of 60 days. Due to muscle pain, the player was not available for United in 12 matches last season.

Status of the deal between Flamengo and Anthony Martial

If the If Flamengo is really interested in the Frenchman, they will have to race against time and agree on the signing by Monday (9). Registration for free players is closing. According to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni, who works at the Gianluca Dimarzio portal, the deal could come to fruition soon.

Offered to Flamengo by his staff, Martial also had a drop in his personal numbers. In the 2022/23 season, the player scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. In 2023/24, it was just one goal and no pass that resulted in the ball in the opponents' net.

Potentially, the Flamengo is one step away from achieving a historic feat in Rio de Janeiro football. The red and black team has a unique opportunity before them: to become the greatest undefeated champion of the Carioca Championship. With an already enviable CV, the club has the chance to add yet another milestone to its centuries-old history.

Since its founding in 1895, Flamengo has been a dominant force in Brazilian football, collecting trophies and admirers throughout over the years. With six undefeated titles in the Carioca Championship, the club already stands out among the biggest in the region. However, the possibility of achieving a seventh title without defeat would be an unprecedented feat.

A RUBRO-BLACK DYNASTY

To understand the magnitude of this possible achievement, it is important to analyze the club's history and its trajectory in the competition. Since its last undefeated victory in 2017, Flamengo has remained one of the strongest teams in the country, with significant victories in several competitions. With a talented squad and an experienced coach at the helm, the Rio team has demonstrated a remarkable performance in the current championship.

However, the journey towards the undefeated title has not been easy. Throughout the season, Flamengo faced challenges and worthy opponents, testing their ability to overcome and determination. Each match played was a battle, demanding maximum concentration and skill from the players.

The red and black fans, always faithful and passionate, have closely followed each move and each goal, cheering with the victories and suffering from draws. The fans' unconditional support has been extra fuel for the players on the field, propelling the team towards glory.
