Flamengo faces Cruzeiro this Sunday (30), at 6:30 pm, at Maracanã, in the 13th round of the 2024 Brazilian Championship. Leader of the competition, Mais Querido tries to recover from the defeat suffered by Juventude, on Wednesday. For the next match, the CBF decided that the referee of the match will be Bráulio da Silva Machado.
When refereeing Flamengo x Cruzeiro, the referee from Santa Catarina, who is part of the FIFA board, will command his third game from Mais Querido only this June. Bráulio da Silva Machado had already been selected by the CBF as main referee in the games against Vasco, in the 7th round, and against Bahia, in the 10th.
In addition to these rounds in which he was the main referee, Bráulio also played in the game between Athletico-PR 1×1 Flamengo, in the 9th round. On that occasion, the Santa Catarina native worked as assistant number 2 to the video referee at the Ligga Arena.
Therefore, the high number of Flamengo games led by Bráulio da Silva Machado draws attention. Since the start of the Brasileirão, of the 12 games in which he was selected, four were for Rubro-Negro in Rio. For comparison purposes, last year Bráulio was the main referee in five Mengão games.

Flamengo and Lazio advanced in negotiations to sign midfielder Marcos Antônio. The player, who has already accepted the Rio club's offer, should be signed on loan with an obligation to buy if certain goals are achieved. The main divergence between the clubs is in the clause that obliges Flamengo to buy the player if he participates in 50% of the games during the loan period. Flamengo and Lazio are still debating what the definition of participation in games will be: whether it will only count appearance, ownership, or the number of minutes played (45 or 90 minutes on the field).
Flamengo prefers that the purchase trigger be related to ownership or the condition of the player playing for 90 minutes. If the goal is not met, the purchase option will be the choice of the Rio club. Despite the impasse, Flamengo is confident that it will find a satisfactory agreement with Lazio and will have Marcos Antônio as a reinforcement in the next transfer window.
Marcos Antônio, 24 years old, is a creation of Athletico-PR's youth teams and a contemporary of Vini Jr in the youth teams. The midfielder has spent time at Estoril, in Portugal, and Shakhtar Donetsk, in Ukraine. He was bought by Lazio in 2023 and loaned to PAOK, from Greece, last season, where he was national champion.
