Flamengo will not be able to count on Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, in the clash against Peñarol (URU), valid for the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores, this Thursday (19). Although the striker did not suffer any injury, the club informed that he will be left off the list for precautionary reasons.

OFFICIAL NOTE FROM FLAMENGO< /b>

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not relate him to the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season”, informed Rubro-Negro.

DE LA CRUZ'S RETURN

The main news for Tite's team is the return of Uruguayan midfielder De La Cruz, who has recovered from a muscle injury and will return to the starting lineup after being left out of Mengão's last three matches. The player is a key player in the midfield and his return promises to reinforce the team's performance in the match that will take place at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time).

Newly signed Alex Sandro and Gonzalo Plata, who made their debuts in the victory against Vasco, should be kept in the starting lineup. Ayrton Lucas appears as a possible option for left-back, while Carlos Alcaraz, the club's recent addition, should start the game on the bench.
