This Saturday (23), Flamengo's under-17 team, led by coach Filipe Luís, would play in his first classic of the season, that is, the first classic with the former player in charge of the team . The match was scheduled for 11am (Brasília time), against Vasco, at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium, but, due to the forecast of torrential rains for this weekend in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the match was cancelled.

The game is valid for the 3rd round of the Copa Rio U-17, a competition in which Flamengo's base is the current champion, so Filipe Luís has the mission of leading his players to yet another achievement. However, this search will have to continue another day.

This Friday (22), FERJ announced that all tournament games scheduled to take place between the 22nd and 25th would have to be rescheduled, due to storm warnings. There are still no updates on when the match will take place, so fans will have to wait to see this classic happen.

THE COMPETITION SO FAR

Under the command of Filipe Luís, the club's idol and who begins his promising career as a football coach, Flamengo U-17 has a 100% success rate in the World Cup Category river. In the first two rounds, Mengão defeated Cabofriense, 5-1, and beat Volta Redonda 1-0.

Meanwhile , their opponent, Vasco, still doesn't know what it means to win in the tournament. The rival's U17 team lost their debut to Nova Iguaçu 1-0, and last weekend they were beaten by Botafogo, this time 2-0. Therefore, this Saturday Mais Querido would try to score their third consecutive victory to further sink Vasco in the league table.

Flamengo continues to adjust its U-20 squad, and after Lorran's departure to Pisa (ITA), it was Luiz Phellipe's turn to leave the club . The left-back was loaned to Athletico-PR, where he will be part of the Paraná team's youth academy until the end of the season.

According to YouTuber Guilherme Flazoeiro, the young man has already traveled to Curitiba for medical examinations. After passing the tests, he is expected to sign a contract with the club , which currently plays in the Brazilian Championship's Série B.

WHO IS LUIZ PHELLIPE?

Revealed in Flamengo 's youth ranks, Luiz Phellipe rose to prominence in 2023, still in the under-17s . The following year, he established himself as one of the main players in the squad, participating in 32 matches and scoring four goals.

In 2025, the 17-year-old full-back was promoted to the U-20 team and played 12 games, but failed to find the net. His last appearance came in the away draw against Fortaleza , when he came on for 24 minutes .

NEXT STEPS FOR FLAMENGO'S U-20S

Even without Luiz Phellipe, the team led by Bruno Pivetti remains focused on the season, after winning the U-20 Club World Cup . The next match takes place on Saturday (06), at 9:30 am (Brasília time), against Vasco, at home.

Young Marcelo Portela drew attention on social media after a play in which he left Vini Jr. on the ground during a futsal match . The play, which ended in a goal, went viral and catapulted the athlete to national prominence.

His talent didn't go unnoticed. Flamengo reached an agreement with Botafogo to sign the midfielder to strengthen its under-15 squad. The deal involved splitting the player's rights between the clubs. The information was initially reported by the "Flazoeiro" profile.

PLAYER WAS AUTHOR OF VIRAL DRIBBLE

After the play, Vini Jr. reacted humorously and even took a photo with Portela, a gesture that further increased the video's impact. Shortly after, the number 7 returned to Spain and was instrumental in Real Madrid's La Liga performance.

In the victory over Mallorca, the Flamengo-trained striker scored the winning goal with a solo effort, dribbling past the defense and firing a cross-shot into the net. The result solidified the Brazilian's good form, which had been the target of criticism in his home country.

AND THE MARKET IN THE PROFESSIONAL TEAM

Striker Michael will be the next to leave Flamengo, as he is no longer in coach Filipe Luís's plans. The board has released the player to listen to offers and negotiate a new team in the second half of the year. Brazilian football clubs have already begun inquiries about the player.

Flamengo's U-20 team returned to the field this week, in their first match after winning the Intercontinental Cup for the second time against Barcelona at the Maracanã Stadium . Playing at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium in Xerém, the "Garotos do Ninho" showed intensity and defeated Fluminense 4-0.

In a fifth-round match of the U-20 Rio de Janeiro State Championship, Guilherme was the star of the match, scoring a hat trick. Joshua also made his mark, completing the score in the red-and-black victory.

Under the command of coach Bruno Pivetti, the U-20 team remains undefeated in ten games, accumulating seven wins. With the victory, the team reached 10 points in four matches played in the Carioca. The next match will be another classic: Flamengo faces Vasco da Gama, on Saturday (6), at 9:30 am, in Gávea.

GUILHERME DECIDES WITH HAT TRICK

The match started evenly, with Fluminense taking the lead on two occasions. But just six minutes in, Fluminense opened the scoring: Guilherme found Pedro Leão , who shot; the goalkeeper saved, and Joshua pounced on the rebound.

In the 21st minute, after pressure from Tricolor, Guilherme scored the second with a precise finish after an assist from Daniel Sales . Still in the first half, the red-and-black number 10 shone with individual plays: he dribbled past the defense and scored the third in the 42nd minute, before completing his hat trick shortly after, closing the score at 4-0.

In the final stage, the pace dropped, but Flamengo continued to create chances, particularly through Pedro Leão, who threatened with shots from medium and close range . Despite the pressure, the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
