Forward Gabigol is considered one of Flamengo's most recent idols, however, he is going through the most questionable phase of his career since arriving at Rubro Negro. Down, Mais Querido's number 10 started the team's last three matches on the bench. Now, the player will take advantage of the FIFA Data to try to regain space in the starting team.
Flamengo will have eight days of activities until the next appointment, which will be on October 19th. Therefore, Gabigol will have time to rediscover himself in training and prove to the new coach, Tite, that he deserves to be among the starting 11 of Mais Querido.
Gabigol was a starter throughout the season, however, the month of September gave the striker the reserve status for the first time wearing the Rubro Negro shirt. Before, the closest thing to this happened in the 2022 season, when the former coach, Dorival Júnior, created two teams: the Brazilian Championship and the World Cups. On that occasion, the number 10 started four rounds on the bench while remaining a starter in the knockouts.
Therefore, Gabigol will once again seek his place in the starting team, as a new coach has arrived to command the professional team . The striker also said that he still believes in the Brazilian Championship title and that everyone in the squad also believes that it can be won.
With Gabigol at his disposal, Flamengo returns to the pitch on October 19th. The commitment will be valid for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship, which will mark Tite's debut in charge of Rubro Negro and will take place at 7pm, at Estádio Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
