Even off the field, Flamengo continues to be remembered. In the third phase of the English Cup, this Tuesday (17), Fulham (ING) faced Preston (ING) wearing a red and black uniform, and sent a message to the Rio club.
Through social networks, Fulham published: “Back in black and red”, which in Portuguese means “Back to red and black”. In addition to the phrase, the English club shared a photo of striker Rodrigo Muniz wearing the uniform that refers to Flamengo. This generated a wave of comments from Mengão fans on the Fulham page.

After the publication, fans red-blacks "invaded" Fulham's social networks asking for Rodrigo Muniz's return. Many comments suggested replacing the striker with Carlinhos, another player loved by the fans.
Rodrigo Muniz, who began his career in football with Flamengo, was signed by Fulham in 2021 after good performances for the Rio club. Although he faced difficulties establishing himself in the English team and was loaned to Middlesbrough (ING), the young striker stood out after his return and is now one of the team's important players.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time, and the place was decided on penalties. However, the team of Andreas Pereira and Rodrigo Muniz ended up wasting the 17th penalty and was eliminated from the competition.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
