Player initially traveled to Switzerland to stand trial, but there was a postponement

0Gabigol traveled to Europe to participate in his trial at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Punished for attempted fraud in an anti-doping test, Rubro-Negro's number 99 opted to attend the hearing in person, in Lausanne, Switzerland, accompanied by his lawyer, Bichara Neto.
The hearing would take place this Friday- fair (7), but it was postponed. This is because there was a request from the Federal Union, which is part of the process and claims that it was not notified and, as a result, did not appoint a judge for the trial. CAS immediately accepted the federal agency's request to postpone the hearing. Gabigol was informed that there would be no trial at the same time he arrived in Switzerland.
The hearing is expected to take place in the second half of this year. Punished for attempted fraud in an anti-doping test, Gabigol is free to play due to a suspension effect, but is still awaiting the final decision on the merits.
The Flamengo striker took advantage of the annulment of the trial, in Switzerland, to go to France. The flight between the two countries takes an average of one hour and twenty minutes. The Rubro-Negro idol published on social media a recording of him on the most famous avenue in Paris, the Champs-Élysées.

0The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.
The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.
Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.
SuperligaThe dates of the Women's Super League have not yet been announced. However, there is an expectation that the competition will start in October. In total, 12 teams will play the tournament, in a round-robin system, with the eight best qualifying for the quarter-finals.
In the last edition, after all, Flamengo was eliminated by Praia Clube in the semi-final . Therefore, the goal for 2024/25 is to reach the decision and repeat the title won in 2000/01, when Rubro-Negro beat Vasco, in a historic decision at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

0FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.
The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.
The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.
In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled on the number 99 shirt this Friday (19)
|
0The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decided to challenge the panel that gave effect suspension for Gabigol. Therefore, the Flamengo striker is free to play and will be selected for this Saturday's game (20), against Criciúma, in Brasília, for the 18th round of the Brasileirão.
Therefore, the CAS decision partially accepted the Union's request to annul Gabigol's process. Therefore, without challenging the suspensive effect, the decision remains valid and the player is released until the final judgment. Flamengo and the player have already been notified about the decision.
In the last three days, after a request from attacker's defense, the court decided to release the athlete to continue active. The allegation is that the player could not have his career harmed by a technical issue in the trial. The CAS made official this Friday the partial annulment of the process, maintaining the suspensive effect on the athlete, but changing the panel of referees.
Punished in Brazil in March by Anti-Doping Sports Court of Justice (TJD-AD) , Gabigol decided to appeal to the CAS. In the Swiss court, the judging panel is made up of three arbitrators: one appointed by the athlete's defense, one by the CAS and theoretically one by the Union.
However, the Brazilian government requested the annulment of the process with the argument that he was not properly notified and, therefore, did not appoint an arbitrator for the trial. Thus, at the time of the suspensive effect, on April 30, and until this Friday there were two representatives from CAS and one from the player. With the annulment, the two arbitrators appointed by the court, Dolf Segaar and James Drake, resigned.
The Union will have until the 29th to appoint a representative to the new panel. CAS will also appoint a new arbitrator. These two, as indicated by Gabigol, will decide on maintaining the suspensive effect and will subsequently judge the case, which should take place by October.
