That season, the striker reached his best career mark, with an impressive 43 goals, becoming an important protagonist in the red-black squad.
However, Gabigol's most memorable and unforgettable moment occurred in the final of the 2019 Libertadores. The then number 9 shone when he scored two goals in just three minutes against River Plate, guaranteeing the continental title for Flamengo.
In 2020, Gabigol continued to shine, with 27 goals and 12 assists, repeating his top-scoring season at Santos. Flamengo won the Campeonato Carioca, Supercopa, Recopa and Brasileirão titles, and the striker left his mark in all competitions.
