In last Thursday's match (15), Flamengo had a huge headache that will persist until September. This is because Pedro and Gabigol had to leave the clash against Bolívar after feeling injured. This Friday (16), the attackers underwent tests and confirmed the duo's absence from the game in La Paz.

Pedro's injury was lighter, to the posterior muscle of his left thigh and he will be out for two to three weeks. Gabigol injured his right thigh and will only return to the pitch in a month. Therefore, the attackers will not be able to play against Botafogo, on Sunday (18) and against Bolívar, on Thursday (22). In addition, they will also be left out of the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil.

RETURN DATE

The Mais Querido medical team will work to place at least one of the athletes available to the technical committee in the second match of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil, scheduled for the week of September 11th. The national knockout match will be announced this Tuesday (20).

In addition, Rubro-Negro will also be able to count on a rest break. This is because, at the beginning of next month, Brazilian football stops due to the World Cup qualifiers. This way, all athletes will be able to rest and recover.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

In this way, without Pedro and Gabigol, Tite prepares Carlinhos for the clash against Botafogo. The game will be next Sunday (18), at 6:30 pm, valid for the Brasileirão.

Flamengo has faced an extremely intense calendar

In the match against Grêmio, Flamengo will enter the field without the presence of 18 players from the main squad. The decision to spare these athletes is part of the Rio club's strategy to prioritize competing in the Copa Libertadores, the main objective of the season. With the decisive phases of the continental competition approaching, the technical committee chose to keep its main names in Rio de Janeiro, focusing on physical and tactical preparation for the most important games to come.

This choice, although it has a direct impact in the team's performance in the Brazilian Championship, reflects the need to manage the squad in the face of a tight schedule and physical exhaustion accumulated throughout the season. Flamengo, which is fighting for the top positions in the Brasileirão, sees the Libertadores as a crucial opportunity to crown the year with a major title. Therefore, squad rotation becomes essential to ensure that players are in the best conditions to face the marathon of decisive games.

THE CLUB HAS A SPECIFIC POINT OF VIEW

Among names that will not travel to Porto Alegre are some of the main highlights of the red-black team. Athletes such as Gabigol, Bruno Henrique and Arrascaeta will not participate in the clash against Grêmio. They, as well as other starters, will remain in the club's CT for recovery and physical adjustment work, aimed exclusively at the next commitment for the Libertadores.

In addition to the attackers and midfielders, other sectors of the team will also be affected due to absences. Important defenders, such as David Luiz and Filipe Luís, are also on the list of those spared. The absence of so many players creates a challenge for coach Jorge Sampaoli, who will need to use an alternative team to try to win points away from home against Grêmio, a traditionally strong team at home.

The Flamengo made history by becoming four consecutive champions of the Brazilian Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championship. The team, which has the talent of two-time Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade, shone once again and secured the title after fierce competition. With a solid and constant performance, the club scored the highest number of points, taking home the champion's trophy.

Under the leadership of Rebeca Andrade, Flamengo's women's team has shown, year after year, its supremacy in the Brazilian artistic gymnastics scene. Andrade, who won two Olympic golds, is a central figure in the team's success. Her experience and talent not only raise the team's technical level, but also serve as an inspiration for other athletes.

A NEW HEGEMONY IN SPORT

THE tetracampeonato is a remarkable feat, which puts Flamengo highlighted in the national sports scene. The club has consistently invested in its youth categories, fostering new talent and ensuring that the future of artistic gymnastics remains promising. The triumph in the 2024 championship is the result of work that began a long time ago, involving coaches, physiotherapists, physical trainers and a technical team dedicated to ensuring the success of the athletes.

The Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship is one of the most important tournaments in the country, bringing together the best clubs and athletes in the sport. The competition is marked by a high technical level, and athletes need to demonstrate mastery on different devices, such as beam, floor, asymmetrical parallels and table vault. Each of these tests requires precision, strength and concentration.

The fans of Flamengo are organizing another "AeroFla", a movement in which they accompany and support the team at the airport before important matches. This time, the mobilization takes place amid an atmosphere of urgency, as the club prepares for the decisive clash in Uruguay, after the 1-0 defeat to Peñarol at Maracanã, in the Copa Libertadores 2024.

Under the command of Tite, Flamengo is facing a delicate moment in the season, with the pressure to reverse the result to remain in contention. Even with the stumble at home, the red and black fans maintain their faith and tradition of showing unconditional support for the team, whether in moments of victory or crisis.

FLAMENGO HAS ANOTHER SHOW OF LOVE

“AeroFla” is more than a simple reception at the airport. This is a manifestation of Flamengo's passion, which transcends results on the field. Fans promise to fill Tom Jobim International Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, to give the players one last incentive before leaving for Uruguay. The expectation is that thousands of red and black people will gather, singing songs and holding flags, in a clear demonstration that, in the Flamengo, the support is present "in love and hate, until the end", as is common to hear among the club's fans .

Flamengo's current scenario in the Libertadores reflects a team that, despite its star-studded squad, still seeks to consolidate a style of play under Tite's command. The defeat to Peñarol, at home, complicated life for Flamengo, who now need to win away to guarantee their classification. The fans, aware of the difficulty, do not let up and reinforce the idea that support off the field is essential for success on it.
