Considered one of the greatest idols of the current generation, Gabigol's days are numbered at Flamengo. With his contract nearing the end, the number 99 is about to reach the mark of 300 games with Manto Sagrado, with just four games left to do so.

Currently, Gabigol has played 296 games for Flamengo. As one of the attacking options in the absence of Pedro, the player has the chance to complete the historic mark of 300 matches by the end of September.

To do this, Tite will need to select Gabigol in the next four matches from Flamengo. The expectation is that the number 99 will gain minutes in the round-trip games of the Libertadores quarter-finals, against Peñarol (URU).

Reasons to celebrate?

Despite the historic milestone approaching, Gabigol's moment at Flamengo is not the most favorable for celebrations. The striker became Tite's third option, even with absence of Pedro, who will only return to the pitch in 2025 due to injury.

In addition, Gabigol's contract with Flamengo is in its final stretch, with no great expectations of renewal. The striker's current contract with the club runs until December of this year. Recently, Marcos Braz, Flamengo's vice-president of football, publicly commented on the situation.

On that occasion, Braz made it clear that Gabigol already has the club's offer in hand, but that, at the moment, the The player's permanence seems unlikely. Flamengo's latest proposal includes a 50% salary increase and another year on the contract. However, the duration of the contract has been the main point of disagreement between the parties.
