After the 2-0 victory over Fluminense last Saturday at Maracanã, in the semi-final of the Campeonato Carioca, Tite mentioned Vítor Pereira as the coach who had the highest goal average with the team in the Flamengo in recent years. However, the Portuguese coach was far from balanced, conceding many goals in defense and, as a result, he left without leaving much to be missed by the fans.
To determine the coach with the "greatest balance" in terms preached by Tite, which involves the relationship between more goals scored and fewer goals conceded, ge carried out a kind of "check" and researched the numbers of Flamengo coaches over the last 10 years. The survey considered official matches and friendlies played since 2014. The information is from the GE website.
With 24 games in charge of Flamengo, with 12 at the end of last year and the other half at the beginning of the season, Tite has not yet reached the Top 5 of the most balanced coaches. However, largely due to his defensive performance in 2024, he is the coach with the lowest average number of goals conceded: 0.5. This means that your team concedes a goal every two matches.
AVERAGE GOALS CONCEIVED
Tite (2023-2024): 0.50 (12 conceded in 24 games )
Dorival Júnior (2018): 0.58 (7 conceded in 12 games)
Paulo César Carpegiani (2018): 0.65 (11 conceded in 17 games)
p>
Maurício Barbieri (2018): 0.74 (29 conceded in 39 games)
Muricy Ramalho (2016): 0.80 (21 conceded in 26 games)
Jorge Jesus (2019-2020): 0.82 (47 conceded in 57 games)
Dorival Júnior (2022): 0.83 (35 conceded in 42 games)
Reinaldo Rueda (2017): 0.84 (26 conceded in 31 games)
Renato Gaúcho (2021): 0.86 (32 conceded in 37 games)
Vanderlei Luxemburgo (2014- 2015): 0.88 (52 conceded in 59 games)

Flamengo will have an important reinforcement for the duel this Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. Defender Léo Ortiz returns to the starting lineup after serving an automatic suspension in the Brasileirão and is confirmed for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals against Estudiantes.
In addition to Léo Ortiz , other players are available again for Filipe Luís , including Varela and Bruno Henrique, who were rested against Juventude. Alex Sandro and Jorginho, on the other hand, remain doubtful and will have their fitness assessed shortly before the match.
Right-back Guillermo Varela, the team's starting right-back, is on the field with a yellow card. If he receives another warning, the Uruguayan will be out of the second leg, scheduled for September 25th at Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium in La Plata.
To face Estudiantes, Flamengo must maintain the base of the team that has been playing: Rossi; Varela (Emerson Royal), Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Ayrton Lucas (Viña); Saúl, De La Cruz (Jorginho) and Arrascaeta; Plata, Pedro and Samuel Lino.
Eduardo Domínguez will have almost his entire squad available for the game later today. He's expected to field the following: Muslera; Román Gómez, Santiago Núñez, Facundo Rodríguez, and Santiago Arzamendia; Ascacíbar, Gabriel Neves, Amondarain, and Medina; Tiago Palacios and Guido Carrillo.
