After the victory against Fluminense on the afternoon of last Sunday (25), the squad of Flamengo received the second (26) off and the Rubro Negro stars wasted no time enjoying a beach in Barra da Tijuca, in Rio. Gabigol and Matías Viña were together there and find two idols from Mais Querido: Adriano Imperador and Petkovic.

In the video released by journalists Jéssica Mendes, Gabigol appears hugging Adriano Imperador. Furthermore, the 2009 Brasileirão top scorer was seen taking a photo with Petkovic, his partner in the sixth championship campaign. Finally, Matías Viña was caught leaving the beach this Monday afternoon (26).

LIFE AWAY FROM THE GRAMADOS

While Viña and Gabigol are active on Flamengo, Adriano Imperador and Petkovic enjoy retirement from the lawns. "Didico", as the attacker is affectionately called, has worked in advertisements for bookmakers and other brands. The Serbian also promotes sports betting companies and has worked as a coach and sports commentator in recent years.

GABIGOL AND VIÑA BACK TO WORK

After enjoying the day off, Gabigol and Viña reappear at CT Ninho do Urubu on the afternoon of this Tuesday (27th) together with the rest of the squad to start preparing for the match against Madureira, valid for the last round of the Guanabara Cup, on Saturday (2nd).

The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.

The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.

Victory to respect

Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.

Superliga

The dates of the Women's Super League have not yet been announced. However, there is an expectation that the competition will start in October. In total, 12 teams will play the tournament, in a round-robin system, with the eight best qualifying for the quarter-finals.

In the last edition, after all, Flamengo was eliminated by Praia Clube in the semi-final . Therefore, the goal for 2024/25 is to reach the decision and repeat the title won in 2000/01, when Rubro-Negro beat Vasco, in a historic decision at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.

The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.

What will the Super Mundial be like?

< The competition organized by FIFA will be played for the first time with 32 teams next year. The United States will host the first edition of the tournament in this format. The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups with four teams each, with them facing each other in a single round. The top two in each group will advance to the round of 16. The knockout stage will be played in a single game.

The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.

In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

Former player Adriano, known as Imperador, officially announced that he will say goodbye to the pitch on December 15th, in a special friendly match at Maracanã. The match will be attended by former teammates from two of the most notable clubs of his career: Flamengo and Inter Milan. At 42 years old, Adriano will wear both shirts, playing time for each team.

< In an interview, Adriano commented on the importance of this moment for him and his fans. "A lot of people asked me to say goodbye. Despite having stopped a few years ago, I needed this match to finish my cycle. I owed it to everyone who supported and still supports me", said the former player.

Revealed by Mais Querido, Adriano played 94 games and scored 46 goals in his two spells at the club. In the first, in 2000, he helped Mengão win their second Rio championship and the Champions Cup. Upon his return to Brazil, in 2009, he was a key player in winning the Brazilian Championship.

SUCCESS ALSO IN EUROPE< /p>

At Inter Milan, Adriano consolidated his international career. Between 2001 and 2009, there were 177 matches and 74 goals, in addition to seven important titles, including four Italian championships and two Italian Cups. His performance in Italy earned him the nickname "Emperor", which accompanied him for the rest of his football career. b>

Adriano has not played professionally since 2016, when he played two games for Miami United, in the United States. Before that, the striker had spells at clubs such as Athletico-PR and Corinthians, but without repeating the success of his times at Inter and Flamengo. In recent years, the former player participated in charity events, such as the Zico Star Game and Futebol Solidário, which raised funds for victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.

Adriano's farewell will be organized by the company MTR7, in partnership with MCAsport and the firm Diogo Souza Advogados. The former striker will be the host of the event, responsible for inviting and calling up the players who will participate in the friendly. The event promises to be a milestone in the history of Brazilian football, celebrating the career of one of the great idols of CRF and Inter Milan.
