0Tite's long-awaited debut at Flamengo, scheduled for the 19th against Cruzeiro at Mineirão, did not go unnoticed by the critical eyes of renowned journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira. During his analysis on UOL's Posse de Bola program, Mauro expressed the hope that, in just nine days since the coach's arrival, the team will be able to show palpable progress on the field. "The important thing is that Tite gets the team to play. That he gets the team to play on Thursday against Cruzeiro in a different way. The nine days from his arrival and the debut game are enough time for at least the team is more organized. This is the important point", highlighted MCP. In his analysis, Mauro suggested that the expected progress for Flamengo under Tite's command is more substantial than the timid evolution seen with interim Mário Jorge, who returned to the under-20 squad.
" My expectations are the field, what he will do on the field. What he will explain after the game, if it doesn't go well. Nine days is enough time to show at least some organization and progress. He is not the interim , Mário Jorge, who was in that role, can't expect anything from him. But Tite is the coach hired to fix the team. So, in nine days, it's possible to do a good job. It's possible to at least present some standard, some minimally concrete thing", added Mauro.
When addressing expectations regarding Tite's words next week, during the presentation on Tuesday, Mauro Cezar Pereira highlighted the caution that should be expected. "Tite is training the team, he will speak next week (presentation on Tuesday). But does anyone think that Tite will say something bombastic? Do you really wait? He won't say anything much. In other words, he will think thirty times before of each answer. They're going to ask about Corinthians and it's an agenda that doesn't make the slightest sense, the guy is Flamengo's coach", concluded the journalist.
In this context of changes and expectations, the eyes of the fans and sports analysts will be attentive to Tite's initial trajectory in charge of Flamengo, expecting not only results, but also a clear and concrete redefinition of the team's playing style. Time, now counted in days, will be the initial judge of this new phase in Rio football.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
