Forward Gabigol is awaiting a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), based in Laussane, Switzerland, on the request for a suspensive effect on the two-year punishment imposed by the Brazilian anti-doping sports court. This Monday (22), news appeared on social media that the answer had already come out and would be positive. The player's defense spoke out on the issue.
Journalist David Sharp, from Antenados na Jogada radio, posted on his profile on X that the decision had already been taken and would be positive for the player. The request for a suspensive effect would have been granted and Gabigol could now be reintegrated into the group of Flamengo players.
Immediately, Flamengo fans began to question other press professionals about the veracity of the information. Flamengo's Deliberative Council approved, this Tuesday (19), the master sponsorship contract with Betano , one of the global leaders in sports betting. The link will begin on August 20, 2025 and will remain valid until December 31, 2028 , guaranteeing the club R$268 million per season. The agreement is considered the largest ever signed in national football.
The partnership includes brand exposure on the uniforms of the professional team and also on Olympic sports such as volleyball, basketball, and women's soccer. Additionally, the company will be featured on Flamengo TV content, expanding commercial integration and global visibility. The board emphasizes that the agreement is not limited to financial support, but opens doors to new business opportunities.
With values comparable to those of European football giants, the contract brings Flamengo closer to clubs like Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona. For comparison, Flamengo's partnership surpasses sponsorships from clubs like Ajax, whose partnership with Ziggo generates only €8 million (approximately R$51 million) per year. This amount places the Brazilian team in 10th place in the world rankings for largest sponsorship deals.
This Wednesday (20), at 8:30 am, president Luiz Eduardo Baptista , known as Bap, will be live on Flamengo TV alongside Guilherme Augusto Figueiredo, General Director of Betano Brasil. The conversation will be led by João Guilherme and will cover the details of the negotiation considered historic.
