Flamengo took an important step towards the round of 16 of the Libertadores 2024 by beating Bolívar 4-0. Now, just a victory over Millonarios is enough to guarantee classification. The game also marked Flamengo's 15th consecutive victory at home in the Libertadores, extending their unbeaten run to 26 games.
Flamengo's last defeat at home in the Libertadores was in 2019, under the command of Abel Braga. Since then, there have been 23 wins and only 3 draws, with impressive averages of goals scored and conceded per game. The performance at home places Flamengo among the Brazilian clubs with the third longest unbeaten run in the Libertadores.
If they maintain their unbeaten record against Millonarios, Flamengo will achieve the seventh longest undefeated streak at home in the history of the competition. The overall Libertadores record is held by Boca Juniors, with 37 games unbeaten between 1996 and 1991. Success at home has been an important asset in Flamengo's quest for the continental title.

TITE EXCITES ARRASCAETA'S RETURN, BUT REGRETS SEQUENCE OF INJURIES AT FLAMENGO
On Wednesday night (15), Flamengo demonstrated its superiority on the field to beat Bolívar (BOL) 4-0, in a match valid for the fifth round of the Copa Libertadores group stage. The game, held at Maracanã, was marked not only by the impressive victory of the red and black team, but also by coach Tite's concerns about the injuries that have been plaguing the squad.
After the game, Tite lamented the sequence of injuries that has affected Flamengo, highlighting the absence of important players such as Arrascaeta, Cebolinha and Bruno Henrique. "We were without Arrascaeta, who returned today (Wednesday, 15th). We were without Cebolinha, now without Bruno Henrique. Gabi, Erick (Pulgar), we got Allan back. It's important to leave the athletes in the best condition" , declared the red-and-black coach.
Player left Mengão for Europe and may now be returning to Brazilian football to play with the national team's star player at Peixe

Santos' priority is to sign midfielder Willian Arão , formerly of Flamengo , to strengthen the team in the next transfer window. According to Rádio Itatiaia , the club of star Neymar is optimistic after a meeting with the player's staff , but the deal has not yet been closed. Arão has a contract with Panathinaikos , from Greece , until June of this year.
Santos changed targets after impasse with Thiago Maia
Initially, Santos was interested in signing Thiago Maia , currently at Internacional , and who also had a stint at Flamengo . The Vila Belmiro club reached an agreement with the player and Colorado, but a financial obstacle prevented the deal from being finalized .
The problem involved a debt of 4.5 million euros that Internacional still has with Flamengo for the purchase of the midfielder. Santos was willing to assume this debt , but Rubro-Negro did not accept the financial guarantees offered by the São Paulo club.
Faced with this impasse, Peixe turned its attention to Willian Arão , seeing the defensive midfielder as a viable alternative to reinforce the midfield for the rest of the season.
Panathinaikos wants to renew
Panathinaikos are still interested in renewing Willian Arão's contract , according to journalist Ekrem Konur . The current contract ends in June, but the Greek club intends to extend it until 2027. A former Flamengo player, Arão has been standing out in Greece and has even attracted the interest of Atlético-MG .
For Flamengo, Arão played for six seasons, where he played 377 games , with 216 wins , 84 draws and 77 losses . With the Manto Sagrado, he scored 35 goals and won several titles, including:
Carioca Championship: 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021
Brazilian Super Cup: 2020 and 2021
South American Recopa: 2020
Conmebol Libertadores Cup: 2019
Brazilian Championship: 2019 and 2020
The winning group will be responsible for overseeing Flamengo's accounts, including contracts, balance sheets and everything else at the club for the next three years.

This Monday (24), Flamengo will go through another internal election . This time, the political race is for the club's Fiscal Council seat for the next three years and will take place in the Salão Nobre of the Gávea headquarters, from 8 am to 9 pm.
At first, what seemed to be a peaceful election, already has a "treta" before it even begins. This is because on a social network, the president of the Administrative Council, Emilio Habib, expressed his preference for candidate Paulo Gomes from List 1.
Ricardo Lomba, president of the Deliberative Council (CoDe) did not like his colleague's statement and said: "I don't think a president in power, especially one who appoints the electoral commission, should express himself in this way."
Lomba, who was supported by the club's current president, Luís Eduardo Baptista, known as BAP, to take over as president of CoDe, this time appears to be on the opposite side of the current management. This is because internal sources at Flamengo guarantee that Ricardo Lomba supports Chapa 3, whose main member is Benny Kessel, who belonged to the extinct political group SóFLA, and that this would be an attempt by the President of the Deliberative Council to resurrect the group within the club.

Coach and former number 7 of Mengão, celebrates the cup over Vitória at Barradão and highlights relief after criticism from the tricolor fans

Bahia was crowned champion this Sunday (23), after drawing 1-1 with Vitória at Barradão and securing the title with an aggregate score of 3-1. The achievement has a special meaning for Rogério Ceni, who completed 100 games at the helm of the club and finally lifted his first trophy as coach of Tricolor. In addition to him, another former Flamengo player was also champion for the first time: captain Éverton Ribeiro.
The match was marked by high intensity and strong marking, making it difficult to create offensive plays. Even so, the team managed to hold on to the result and secure the title against their biggest rival, making up for the loss of the 2024 Campeonato Baiano, when Vitória emerged victorious at Arena Fonte Nova.
COACH CELEBRATES ACHIEVEMENT AND HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TITLE FOR THE CLUB
After the final whistle, Rogério Ceni highlighted the importance of the victory for the team and the fans, who had been demanding a title since last season. According to him, the team had a "debt" with the Tricolor fans after the defeat in the state championship the previous year.
“The place doesn’t matter. What matters to us is the title. That’s what makes a difference. We’ve been in debt to Bahia fans since last year regarding the Campeonato Baiano,” said the coach.
COMPLICATED MATCH REQUIRED DEFENSIVE FOCUS TO GUARANTEE THE RESULT
The game was played in a challenging scenario for Bahia, with many interruptions and strong pressure from Vitória. For Ceni, the team knew how to adapt and maintained a consistent performance in defense, which was crucial to holding the draw and securing the trophy.
“Although it wasn’t a good match from a technical point of view, tactically the team managed to perform well defensively. We maintained the same performance with the ball that we normally have,” assessed the commander.
