Since Botafogo's embarrassment in Brasileirão 2023, and with Palmeiras' title, John Textor has accused that the São Paulo team's victory was manipulated. This Monday (1), the businessman reported that he has already sent evidence to a public prosecutor. According to Textor, a classic from Brazilian last year had "external influence".

“Palmeiras' 5-0 victory, which was the beginning of a seemingly impossible (and now historic) comeback over a Botafogo team that had a record number of points in the first round of the Brasileirão, after 14 wins in 17 games, was manipulated. The game between Palmeiras and São Paulo in October 2023 was, according to experts and artificial intelligence, manipulated by at least five São Paulo players”, began Textor.

“Seven players showed abnormal deviations in situations crucial number of goals, although only five were judged to have exceeded limits that make the manipulation clear and convincing. It is necessary to make it clear that the evidence does not establish motives, and also does not suggest that any club was responsible for the manipulation other than the identified players”, added the owner of Botafogo.

TEXTOR ALSO ACCUSES ARBITRATION

In addition to accusing the players, John Textor also accuses the Brazilian refereeing. The Botafogo investor says that the referees (field and VAR) combine results. All of Textor's quotes are published on the executive's official website.

AND FLAMENGO?

To date, Textor has not mentioned any game in which Flamengowas involved. Therefore, Rubro Negro can focus on his Libertadores debut with ease. Thus, Mais Querido takes the field this Tuesday night (2), at 7pm, against Millionarios, in Bogotá.

Speculated as a possible reinforcement of Flamengo to fill the gap left by Pedro, striker Anthony Martial is free on the market, but has not played since December 9, 2023. On that occasion, Manchester United, his former club, entered the field to face Bournemouth and lost 3-0 in the Premier League. Martial was a starter and played for 56 minutes.

At the beginning of the year, the French striker suffered a groin injury that required surgery. Therefore, he was away for around 42 days, only returning in March. Even though there were three months left on his contract, Manchester United chose to let go of the player. Since then, Martial has been evaluating his next club and Flamengo is paying attention to his movements.

Just like Flamengo, Anthony Martial suffered from injuries in 2023/24. The star had several physical problems that kept him away from the field for a total of 60 days. Due to muscle pain, the player was not available for United in 12 matches last season.

Status of the deal between Flamengo and Anthony Martial

If the If Flamengo is really interested in the Frenchman, they will have to race against time and agree on the signing by Monday (9). Registration for free players is closing. According to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni, who works at the Gianluca Dimarzio portal, the deal could come to fruition soon.

Offered to Flamengo by his staff, Martial also had a drop in his personal numbers. In the 2022/23 season, the player scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. In 2023/24, it was just one goal and no pass that resulted in the ball in the opponents' net.

The famous meme "Thanks, Natalina" won Brazil when it appeared in a video by comedian Diogo Defante. However, the story generated a legal fight against the artist, who is being accused of not paying the image rights of the two interviewees.

According to columnist Fábia Oliveira, Defante was sued by family members of the boy, a minor, who appeared in the video. The case was filed as an affront to image rights and created a dispute over the payment of compensation.

Also according to the columnist, the comedian presented a petition in June this year disagreeing with some of the evidence that the authors claimed . The artist was initially asked to give a statement in person. In addition, other witnesses were presented.

Diogo countered by stating that the requests were unreasonable. According to him, he himself had already said in his defense that the minor's mother, at no time, objected to the recording of the video. Furthermore, she didn't even ask for the footage to be deleted, even though she could have done so.

Thus, the requests made by Diogo Defante were gathered into a single petition. To date, the document has not yet been considered in court. Highlighting that the other minor who appears in the video is also filing a lawsuit against the comedian. However, he states that a document authorizing the use of images was signed.
