In the draw in 1 to 1 between Flamengo and Palmeiras in the last Sunday at Maracanã, midfielder Erick Pulgar was warned with a yellow card after a move with which he involved the midfielder camper Richard Rios, which generated many complaints against the refereeing on the Alviverde side. This Monday (11), John Textor, owner of SAF do Botafogo, decided to join the conversation.

John Textor is known for constantly criticizing the CBF due to Brazilian football refereeing . The owner of SAF botafoguense since the end of the 2023 Brazilian Championship claims that there was manipulation of results of Brasileirão matches by both players and referees from the highest entity in Brazilian football.

< On his Instagram account, John Textor published the video of Erick Pulgar's play against Palmeiras. In the post, the North American compared the situation with the expulsion of Gregore, Botafogo midfielder, in last Wednesday's match (07) against Bahia for the Copa do Brasil to criticize the CBF and emphasize the importance of a League in the Brazilian football.

“Ridiculous in both cases. The CBF is unable to manage our Brasileirão. We must form the League”, emphasized John Textor. Textor's words endorse the criticisms made by Palmeiras coach, Abel Ferreira, who didn't spare the refereeing and complained mainly about Flaco López's disallowed goal in the first half.

“I don't trust the lines of VAR and not on TV. Until they invest in new equipment, I don't believe in the accuracy of these tools. Current devices are obsolete, and the lines are imprecise. The CBF needs to invest so that the truth is truly revealed”, stated Abel.

In July this year, Santos showed interest in signing striker Carlinhos, currently at Flamengo. However, a FIFA regulation interrupted negotiations. According to the entity's rules, a player can be registered for up to three different clubs in the same season, but can only play official matches for two of these teams.

FIFA REGULATIONS PREVENT REGISTRATION

Before his arrival at Mais Querido, Carlinhos played for Nova Iguaçu, participating in competitions such as the Campeonato Carioca and the Copa do Brasil. This means that, according to article 5 of FIFA's Regulation on the Status and Transfer of Players, the striker had already played for two clubs during the season, which would prevent him from officially playing for Santos in 2023.

A The only exception provided for in the regulations would be a transfer to a club from an association with the opposite calendar to the Brazilian one, as happens in Europe, where the seasons run from August to July. As the move to Santos does not fit into this situation, the São Paulo club withdrew its interest.

CARLINHOS GETS CHANCES AT MENGÃO

In addition to the regulatory obstacle, Carlinhos also showed no interest in leaving Flamengo. The striker, who started to receive more opportunities under the command of coach Tite, has been used mainly in the absence of Pedro, who is recovering from an injury. The young player has already entered the field in Libertadores and Brasileirão matches, contributing with two important goals against Atlético-MG and Vitória.

With Pedro's injury, Bruno Henrique has been improvised in the center forward position, occupying the starting position at Flamengo . Gabigol, who also competes for Mengão's attack and has already scored four goals this season, remains one of the team's offensive options.

Another name that caught his attention was Estêvão, a natural dribbler, something that Edmundo himself highlighted as one of his great qualities on the field.

"I'm enchanted by some players, like John Kennedy, for their personality, but technically I was better than him. Estêvão is another, a great dribbler, and I considered myself a natural dribbler", commented the former player.

PRAISE FOR GABIGOL AND DUDU

Among the most experienced players, the former striker mentioned Dudu, from Palmeiras, and Gabigol, from Mais Querido. Edmundo made a point of praising the strong personality and technical quality of both, although he highlighted that each one has a different playing style.

"Dudu is one of the players I like to watch. He plays Palmeiras' number 7, which makes me identify a little with him. Flamengo drawn 1-1 with Vasco this Sunday (15), in the 26th round of the Brasileirão. In the post-game press conference, Tite expressed his dissatisfaction with Raphael Claus' refereeing, criticizing the criteria adopted by the referee in a move that resulted in the Vasco team's goal.

“For me, it was a foul. at Léo Pereira, and it's outside the area, but there's an imbalance behind. We and Bahia whistled there. He gave it to Michael. The criteria confuse me. Claus confuses me. He gets in the way of my ideas. Having made this observation, there is a context, there is a possibility of a shot going towards the goal, there is a surplus with Léo to define. Afterwards, he is able to finish the play or interrupt to recover”, said the coach.

Gerson also criticizes the refereeing

After the match, Gerson also complained about a foul not marked in the play that led to Vasco's goal. “An excellent match. We dominated practically the entire game. Unfortunately, in the end, on a ball that in my opinion was a foul, the referee didn't give it and we conceded the goal. Vasco only had this chance. We are sad to have played an excellent match and conceded a goal at the end”, said the Flamengo captain. p>The play

Léo Pereira advanced on the left side of the attack, but lost the ball in a dispute with a Vasco player, which left a space in the defense of Flamengo. Referee Raphael Claus did not call a foul, and the game continued. Vasco took advantage of the opportunity and, after a header from Coutinho, found the net. The classic ended in a 1-1 draw, and Tite's team had 45 points, remaining eight points behind leader Botafogo, who has 53.

Now it's Libertadores

Flamengo turns its attention to the confrontation with Peñarol (URU) in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. The match will be on Thursday (19), at 7pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã.
