According to information released by journalist Jorge Nicola, a group of investors from the United States, Spain, and Colombia presented the club with a multi-billion dollar project estimated at R$4 billion. To date, at least four meetings have taken place between investor representatives and Luiz Eduardo Baptista , the executive leading the negotiations.
According to the investigation, the business model foresees that 100% of the costs will be assumed by the partners , including Grupo Urbas, a Spanish company responsible for the construction of the América de Cali stadium in Colombia.
The revenue-sharing format was also presented: Flamengo would keep all the profits from soccer matches at the new stadium , while events such as concerts, basketball matches, or American football would receive a revenue share.
