Mauro Cezar also mentioned that the absence of a player like Choupo-Moting was missed in the 1-1 draw against Vasco at Maracanã. Flamengo created several opportunities, but were unable to convert them into goals.
“The board should have agreed to talk to the Cameroonian striker, try to sign a contract until the middle of the year. Carlos Alcaraz, Argentine midfielder from Flamengo, was once again available to Tite after serving a suspension in the last game against Vasco, valid for the Brazilian Championship. Since August 30th, when he started training at Ninho do Urubu, Alcaraz has been attracting attention for its performance. This is Cameroonian striker Eric Choupo-Moting. The player has been without a club since the end of his contract with Bayern Munich at the end of the 2023/24 season. His advanced age was one of the main factors that kept him away from Rubro-Negro.

Eric Maxim Choupo- Moting is 35 years old and has played for several clubs in his career. Born in Germany, with Cameroonian nationality, the striker started playing for St. Pauli, a club from Hamburg, Germany. He had spells at Hamburg, Nuremberg, Mainz, Schalke 04, Stoke City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
