Flamengo surprised the football world on Monday night (09) by announcing the hiring of renowned coach Tite. After the official statement issued by the Rio de Janeiro club, the coach's name immediately became the main topic of discussion on the national sporting scene, generating intense debates and comments throughout the Brazilian press.

Tite's hiring represents a A major milestone in the recent history of Flamengo, which seeks to regain its dominance on national and international fields. Expectations surrounding the coach are high, and many experts believe that his arrival could mean a new era of achievements for the Rio club. Chico Garcia, journalist from the renowned 'Grupo Band', expressed his confidence in Tite's ability to lead Flamengo to success. He declared: "With Tite, we delivered all the cups to Flamengo in 2024. All of them. Absolutely everything that Mengão competes for, he will take. It's not zica, nor bugle, nor mockery. It's information."

The decision to hire Tite came after the dismissal of coach Jorge Sampaoli, who took charge of Flamengo in April of the same year. The Argentine's time at the club was not as successful as expected, with elimination in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores da América, a runner-up in the Copa do Brasil and the red-black team out of the G-4 in the Brazilian Championship.< /p>

Tite's arrival at Flamengo is accompanied by great expectations, given his recent record of success as coach of the Brazilian team, where he won the Copa América in 2019 and stood out for his tactical consistency and ability to develop talent. His experience and leadership are seen as essential ingredients to turn around Flamengo's situation in 2023, a year marked by defeats, failures in competitions and internal conflicts.

The 2023 season has been particularly challenging for Flamengo, who has lost all the competitions he has played in so far. In addition to the unfavorable results, the club also faced internal disagreements between players and the coaching staff, which contributed to an unstable environment. Furthermore, the Rio team runs the risk of being left out of the next edition of the Copa Libertadores da América, as it currently occupies fifth place in the Brazilian Championship, with 44 points.

Tite's signing is seen as a a strategic move to reverse this situation. The coach is known for his disciplined and strategic approach, capable of motivating and uniting a group of players around common goals. His arrival brings hope to Flamengo fans, who look forward to the club's return to achievements and protagonism on the national and international sporting scene.

In addition, Tite brings with him extensive experience in high-level competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, where he led the Brazilian team in two editions (2018 and 2022). His vision of the game and ability to adapt tactically are considered valuable to face the challenges that Flamengo will face in the coming seasons.

With the signing of Tite, Flamengo hopes not only to regain its prominent position, but also reaffirm your commitment to excellence and success. The challenge will be great, but the arrival of the renowned coach brings new hope and a feeling of renewal to the fans and admirers of the Rio club. From now on, the eyes of the football world will be focused on Flamengo and Tite's strategies, who will have the mission of returning the club to glory and winning the titles that the fans so desire. The 2024 season promises to be exciting and full of expectations, and Mengão fans are eager to see what the future holds with the new commander at the helm of the team.

In an interview given after the defeat of Flamengoto Peñarol, 1-0, coach Tite was direct in responding to the boos received by the fans. The statement, marked by a frank tone, exposed the coach's pragmatic vision in relation to demanding fans and the pressure for results. “I respect the fans’ feelings. Of course I feel that (the boos), I'm human”, said Tite, recognizing the fans' frustration in the face of the setback.

Tite's speech reveals that he understands the role of fans as a fundamental part in the context of a club, especially in a team of great expression like Flamengo. By mentioning that the boos affect him as a human being, the coach demonstrates empathy, but does not fail to highlight that the only way to reverse this situation is with achievements on the field. “It can only be reversed in one way”, pointed out the coach.

THE MISTAKE THAT COSTED EXTREMELY DEARLY

The response reflects the experience of Titein dealing with pressure who follows the command of great teams in Brazilian football. With successful spells at clubs such as Corinthians, Grêmio and the Brazilian national team itself, the coach has a track record that puts him in a position to understand, perhaps like few others, the relationship between performance on the field and fans' expectations. For him, this connection is clear: “Do you know how to win fans? Do you know how I won over the fans of the other clubs I played for? Win an important title”, he declared.

The phrase highlights the centrality of titles in football, especially in mass clubs like Flamengo. In Brazil, the culture of results is intense, and Tite recognizes that fans have a limited tolerance for negative results. Winning titles, for him, is the key to gaining the support of the fans, and anything other than that results in discontent: “If not, bye.”

This last part of Tite's speech summarizes the characteristic impatience of demanding fans like Flamengo. The coach makes it clear that, without obtaining relevant trophies, the relationship with the fans deteriorates quickly. The pressure is constant and is part of the daily life of those who take on the leadership of top teams. Tite seems, however, to be aware of this scenario and how it needs to be faced.

Tite's statement came after a delicate moment for Flamengo. The defeat to Peñarol, at home, in a group stage match of the Copa Libertadores, raised alarm bells for fans and the coaching staff. Flamengo had high expectations for the season, especially after major reinforcements and the arrival of Tite, a coach with wide recognition on the national and international scene.

The pressure on Flamengo is nothing new. The club, which has one of the biggest fans in the world, is known for its high expectations for titles. The expensive squad, made up of renowned players, also increases this demand. Each stumble is widely covered by the media and amplifies the dissatisfaction of part of the fans, who demand immediate results.

CAN IT GO BAD AT THE MOMENT?

The Copa Libertadores, in particular, has a important meaning for Flamengo and its fans. The continental tournament is seen as one of the club's main objectives each season. Any result other than victory can generate dissatisfaction and pressure on the technical committee, as occurred after the setback against Peñarol.

In this context, Tite's speech not only recognizes the fans' dissatisfaction, but also is realistic in relation to what is expected from a club like Flamengo. The demand for titles is part of the package when taking over a club of this size, and the coach seems to be aware of this when he points out that he will only be able to win the support of the fans with significant victories.

Flamengo has the biggest fans in Brazil and this is always becoming more and more evident. The broadcast of the confrontation between Mais Querido and Fluminense was a great success for Bandeirantes, on open television. The broadcaster managed to surpass its competitors in terms of national audience and took second place last Sunday (25). The only broadcaster that was ahead was Rede Globo.

According to data from Kantar Ibope Media, Flamengo's victory over Fluminense, in the tenth round of the Guanabara Cup, resulted in an average of 5 .5 points during the broadcast. While the ball was in play, between 4pm and 5:59pm (Brasília time), Bandeirantes achieved an audience of 6.2 points, surpassing SBT's 5.7 and Record's 4.6.

The only broadcaster that managed to surpass the audience for Flamengo's game at Bandeirantes was Rede Globo. This is due to the fact that The Masked Singer Brasil reached 10 points, although this number was the lowest this 2024 season.

DEFINITION OF THE GUANABARA CUP

FERJ defined that Flamengo will return to the field to lift the Guanabara Cup next Saturday (2), against Madureira, at 4pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. According to information from journalist Renan Moura, the choice takes place after Mais Querido beat Fluminense, this Sunday (25), 2-0, in the penultimate round. This way, with Rubro Negro's title already guaranteed, there is no need for it to take place simultaneously with the other games.

With the victory, Mais Querido reached 24 points and has a goal difference of 19. Fluminense comes next, with 21, but eight to spare. Nova Iguaçu, third placed for the semi-finals, also has 21, however, with a goal difference of four.
