Coach Tite, from Flamengo, became the target of scathing criticism after his team's 2-1 defeat against Bolívar. The criticism came in an incisive and direct tone from a renowned sports journalist, who spared no words to express his dissatisfaction with the coach's decisions.
"Congratulations, Tite! Congratulations, Tite! You are a genius! If it depends on the press that drools over your egg, you are a genius!", began the journalist, demonstrating irony in relation to the favorable treatment that Tite receives from some sectors of the media. The main point of criticism was the strategy of sparing players in games considered most important. "The coach who spares the team in the 2 main games of the season! He wins 3-0 against Nova Iguaçu and doesn't spare the team in the return game!", highlighted the journalist, pointing out the inconsistency in Tite's choices.
GENERAL DETONATION ON TITE'S ACCOUNT
The journalist highlighted the disparity between the coach's stance in different confrontations. "Anyone can win the Campeonato Carioca with this Flamengo team! But they save against Palmeiras, Flamengo's biggest rival in Brazil! Nobody understands!", he emphasized, highlighting the perplexity at Tite's decisions.
In addition, the journalist brought up past criticisms of the coach, referring to previous episodes, such as World Cups. "I don't see the press criticizing Tite, including at the World Cups, when he was embarrassed! Coward! He knew he could lose at altitude!", he declared, pointing out an alleged lack of self-criticism on the coach's part.
< For the journalist, Tite's attitude towards Flamengo demonstrates a mistaken stance regarding the size and importance of the club. "It's a shame for a coach who arrives at Flamengo and thinks he's on a small team! It's not to save money against Palmeiras, it's not to save money against Bolívar!", he concluded, expressing his indignation at the coach's choices.

Eliminated from the Copa do Brasil last Wednesday (6), after losing on penalties to Atlético-MG in Belo Horizonte, Flamengo was once again the target of criticism. Among them, that of former coach Joel Santana, who questioned Filipe Luís's decisions in command of the team.
Joel Santana on Flamengo's Filipe Luís: "Football is a serious thing, it's not a joke"
"Football is a serious matter, it's not a joke. Flamengo played around in the first game at Maracanã . They gave the guys hope, and look what happened. Atlético isn't stupid," said Joel in a video posted on YouTube this Friday (8). The former manager also demanded more attention from the red-black coach:
"I don't know what's going through Flamengo 's coach's head. Competition is competition, and it's a résumé. It doesn't work in the Libertadores and the Brasileirão; we'll see what happens . The fans are already irritated by the fluctuations and changes being made. Pay attention: I worked at Flamengo four or five times, and it wasn't for nothing. Football doesn't tolerate insults," he concluded.
Flamengo beat Atlético-MG 1-0 in Belo Horizonte, but lost on penalties and fell in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil . Some of the criticism from the fans focused on Filipe Luís' lack of tactical variations.
The red-black team returns to the field this Saturday (9), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), to face Mirassol at Maracanã , for the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will be broadcast exclusively by Premiere (pay-per-view) for all of Brazil.
