Flamengo is keeping an eye on the transfer window and the target is an attacking midfielder to compete with Arrascaeta for a position. In this sense, the name of the Belgian/Brazilian and former Flamengo player, Andreas Pereira , has returned to the spotlight in recent days. However, for those who were rooting for the player's return to the Gávea team, there was a cold shower.
Flamengo's football director José Boto has not been beating around the bush and has already cooled any negotiations or interest in the player, who is at Fulham (ENG). The Portuguese said that Andreas is a good player, but he is not the profile that the club is looking for at the moment.
"For that position, it certainly won't be him
"It's not my way of working to disclose the contacts we have. This makes the players more expensive and makes negotiations more difficult. But, in relation to Andreas Pereira, who I consider a great player, he's not the midfielder we're looking for . For that position, he certainly won't be him" — said Boto , who continued...
"It's a different type of player. It's a different player. We're looking for someone more similar to Arrascaeta, who can give him the rest he deserves, so he doesn't have to play in every game, since we don't have a replacement for that position. And that's what we're looking for . Without any major stress. There's time," he added.
Arrascaeta is currently the only creative midfielder available at Flamengo . In the team's last game, coach Filipe Luís had to improvise with Luiz Araújo against Deportivo Táchira (VEN). Therefore, the position is one of the team's priorities for the rest of the season.
Flamengo should take advantage of the transfer window that is open and will remain active until April 11th. On this occasion, the team led by Filipe Luís can sign players who have played in state championships or who are available on the market. Finally, FIFA will open another transfer window so that clubs can sign players before the start of the Super Club World Cup, which begins in June.
Mengão coach was questioned about the constant references to the Portuguese, but he doesn't want to have the 'ghost' of the 2019 season

Flamengo is in the quarterfinals of the Libertadores after beating Internacional 2-0 , this Wednesday (20), at Beira-Rio. The result confirmed the team's good phase under the command of Filipe Luís , but the coach tried to avoid comparisons with Jorge Jesus, idol of the Nation and reference in the 2019 title.
Filipe Luís avoids comparisons to Jorge Jesus at Flamengo: "I'm going to make my own history"
"First, I can never compare my team to the past; they're different players. I also can't compare myself to Jorge Jesus , who, if not the best in history, is one of the greatest to ever play for Flamengo. I'll never be like him; I'll make my own history, my way, but always with the Flamengo DNA I've known since I was a child," declared Filipe Luís.
The coach emphasized that his philosophy is essentially about constant pressure and stifling opponents, but acknowledged the changing nature of football: " The idea is to crush the opponent for as long as possible . Of course, we often won't succeed, and other times we'll play poorly and even lose. But the goal is always to play the game, to play with the ball on the ground," he added.
While Flamengo didn't quite put on a show, it was solid in Porto Alegre. The defense didn't allow Internacional to get a shot on target against Agustín Rossi , who didn't have to work hard. The team from Rio Grande do Sul only threatened late on, when Borré hit the post.
On the other side, the Mais Querido were efficient. Arrascaeta opened the scoring in the first half, taking advantage of a rebound inside the box, and Pedro, in the final stretch, sealed the victory 2-0. With the result, Flamengo advanced 3-0 on aggregate .
In the quarterfinals, Flamengo will face Estudiantes de La Plata (ARG). The first leg will take place in Rio de Janeiro, between September 16th and 18th , while the return leg will be in Argentina, between the 23rd and 25th of the same month.

Alan Patrick also expressed his frustration with the result and called for internal changes to enable the club to compete at a high level again. Pressure on coach Roger Machado is mounting after the elimination. Colorado fans booed the team after the game ended .

Wednesday's duel (20) was Alan Patrick's 13th against Rubro-Negro. The midfielder has 5 losses, 4 wins and 4 draws .
