This past Tuesday (21), Juninho was officially presented as the new reinforcement of Flamengo b> for the 2025 season. After a complicated negotiation, Mais Querido managed to convince Qarabag (AZE) to negotiate the athlete. The player even revealed the surprise he had when he received a call from coach Filipe Luís before agreeing with Rubro-Negro.
"I was in disbelief at first, because of everything he has achieved in his life, his career. I was super happy to receive a call from him, even more so because I fit into his style of play, especially at Flamengo. It's a dream that I'm living today", said Juninho, during a press conference.
EXPECTATION FOR OWNERSHIP
Thus, the expectation is that Juninho will be a starter in the first matches of theFlamengo main squad. After all, Gabigol has already left the club, while Pedro continues to recover from an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Furthermore, Filipe Luís has already defined that Carlinhos is not in Rubro-Negro's plans for 2025.
VALUE PAID FOR TER JUNINHO
O Flamengo initially offered Qarabag around 4 million euros (R$ 25 million) forJuninho. However, the Azerbaijani team denied Rubro-Negro's first proposal. Thus, Mais Querido raised the prices and signed the striker for 5 million euros (R$ 31 million).

Flamengo U-20 will be represented at the World Cup by two players. Coach Ramon Menezes called up, this Thursday (18), defenders João Victor and Iago to defend the Brazilian National Team in the tournament. The competition will be held in Chile between September 27 and October 19.
Brazil is in Group C of the U-20 World Cup and will face Mexico, Morocco, and Spain in the initial phase. A total of 24 teams participate in the competition, divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group and the four best third-place teams advance to the round of 16. From this stage onward, the matches become knockout until the title is decided.
Goalkeepers: Felipe Longo ( Corinthians ), Lucas Furtado (Vitória-POR) and Otávio (Cruzeiro).
Defenders: Gilberto (Palmeiras), Igor Serrote (Al Jazira-UAE), Leandrinho (Vasco), Léo Derik (Athletico-PR), Bruno Alves (Cruzeiro), Iago (Flamengo) and João Victor ( Flamengo ).

Flamengo said goodbye to the Women's Copa do Brasil this Wednesday (17), after a 1-0 defeat to São Paulo, in the quarterfinals of the tournament. After the final whistle, striker Cristiane spoke out and made harsh criticisms of the refereeing.

"Everyone saw today's match , no need to even talk about it. The refereeing was biased, and it also went wrong in São Paulo's favor. But when the refereeing ends up deciding the match, it gets complicated . I don't know the choices made for a game as big as this, Flamengo vs. São Paulo," the player declared.
She continued: " Unfortunately, today had a big impact on us . We've made significant progress compared to the beginning of the year, that's clear. But when the refereeing has a direct impact, it gets difficult," Cristiane concluded.
The first half of the derby was evenly matched. São Paulo started better, but after 20 minutes, Flamengo began to control possession. Even so, neither team managed to score before halftime . In the second half, the São Paulo team came back with more intensity and capitalized on a defensive lapse. Duda Serrana appeared unmarked to score the winning goal and secure the tricolor's place in the semifinals.
After being eliminated from the Copa do Brasil, the Meninas da Gávea return to the field this Saturday (20), for their debut in the Campeonato Carioca, against Búzios, at 3 pm (Brasília time). Flamengo is the current state champion and holds the hegemony in women's football in Rio , with eight titles won so far.
The player was in Mengão's sights during the transfer window, but ended up being discarded, and his poor performance for the 'Millonarios' attracted attention.

Facundo Colidio's name has been circulating among Flamengo fans again this week. The Argentine striker, who was once on Flamengo's radar for a 2024 deal, took the field in the Libertadores clash between River Plate and Palmeiras, but had a low-key performance and became the target of ridicule from Brazilian fans .
At the time, Flamengo opened talks to sign the 25-year-old center forward, but were stymied by River Plate's high asking price and the player's own desire to remain in Buenos Aires. The Argentine club agreed to renew his contract until 2031, responding to a request from coach Marcelo Gallardo, who considered Colidio an important player in the squad.
By 2024, the striker had scored seven goals in 25 matches. Without an agreement, Flamengo reorganized its attacking plans, while Colidio remained at Monumental de Núñez . This season, he has scored nine times in 30 appearances.
After the match against Palmeiras, many Flamengo fans took to social media to mock the player. One wrote: "And this Colidio guy? He's incredibly stubborn about not wanting to negotiate with Flamengo ... At most, he's fighting for a spot on the bench with Cebolinha."
Another was even more acidic: " This Colidio has every appearance of a Santos player from the last decade ." A third summed it up: "This Colidio is horrible." The general tone was one of relief that the deal hadn't gone through in the past.
The interest in Colidio arose at a time of internal instability at Flamengo. Pedro had lost ground to Filipe Luís, and some of the board considered negotiating him for around €15 million . In this context, Colidio emerged as an option to fill the center-forward role, a debate that sparked disagreements between CEO José Boto and president Luiz Eduardo Baptista (BAP).
