The Flamengo defender received an offer from West Ham, but ended up preferring to remain at Rubro-Negro. But his good phase and excellent performance for the Brazilian team attracted attention from European clubs towards his football. In an interview with ESPN, Rodolfo Landim responds about Fabrício Bruno's situation, but shows no interest in selling the player.
The subject is on the rise due to the interest of Rennes in his signing. Landim says he left the player free to decide his future. Without making an effort to sell him, as he preferred to keep Fabrício Bruno in the squad, the club president says that staying at West Ham was entirely the athlete's choice.
“There was, in fact, a proposal. We made him feel very comfortable. He understood that for the moment in his life, he chose to remain. We made no effort to get him to leave. Me, personally, on the contrary”, says Rodolfo Landim.
Club refused new proposal
He explains that the club accepted the proposal from the English club to try to do the player's bidding, which at first was to leave. Furthermore, he had a second proposal, but inferior to that of the English. That's why the club didn't even think about accepting.
“There was a perception that he was wanting to leave. We had this window now to try to replace it. We talked, he was interested in leaving. So let's release him. Another proposal emerged. But this second proposal, honestly, what came to me, was an inferior proposal to what English football made. So if Flamengo has a proposal, they made one that was lower than what we were harshly accepting in order to meet the player's interests. There is no way to accept this proposal. We refused. We'll wait and see what comes. But I have no interest in giving him up”, he says.
Rodolfo Landim reveals Flamengo's strategy
Flamengo does not keep any player against their will. Therefore, he made an effort to meet West Ham's proposal, as Fabrício Bruno liked the idea at first. According to the president, this means that other players will come to the club in the future.
“We want players who leave Flamengo to leave happy. Leave talking good about Flamengo. We understand that in the medium and long term, it brings benefits to the club”, says Landim.
He explains that the logic used with Fabrício Bruno and other players is that in the long term, word of mouth from players make Flamengo a great destination.
“We try to create an atmosphere at Flamengo in which players stay there when they are satisfied. It is important so that, in the future, other players want to play for Flamengo, as they understand that the club is acting fairly. Of course, there are moments when they need to understand that they are in contact with us, so that we can plan our squad in a thoughtful way, so that we can cover the departure of a player”, he concludes.
Fla should receive a new proposal from Rennes
It seems that it will be difficult to convince Flamengo to accept a proposal for Fabrício Bruno. This is because the player also does not intend to leave. But in recent days, GE reported that Rennes, from France, formalized a new proposal for the defender with values slightly higher than those offered by West Ham.

With solid performances, the goalkeeper confirms his status as a promising young player. He will have played 17 official matches in 2025 and has established himself as one of the most promising players of the 2007 generation.
Having come through the club's youth ranks since the under-9s, Nannetti recently renewed his contract until the end of 2029. The new contract includes a release clause of around 70 million euros (approximately R$445 million), an amount considered "European level" by the board.

Vitória is preparing for a challenging clash in the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship. The Bahian team faces Flamengo this Monday (25), at 9 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. Despite the two teams' different moments in the table, striker Osvaldo showed confidence in seeking a good result in Rio de Janeiro.
"We're going to Maracanã and trying to play a great game. We haven't lost at Maracanã in a few games, so I think we can build on that to put in a great performance. Flamengo is a tough opponent; they're the best team in our football world , and they've been achieving great results," the striker declared, before adding:
"But on the field, it's 11 against 11, especially against Vitória, who have a history of playing great games and surprising in several matches. I think we have what it takes to get there and get a great result . We know how difficult the game will be," Osvaldo concluded.
Flamengo takes the field to defend its sole lead in the Brasileirão , with 43 points. Filipe Luís's team is enjoying an excellent run of form , having gone six games unbeaten in the competition.
In addition to a solid run in the national championship, the Rio de Janeiro team secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores last week by eliminating Internacional. Prior to that, they had already beaten the same opponent 3-1 at Beira-Rio, cementing their good run.
