Playing for Mais Querido, the star played 88 games, scored just five goals and provided seven assists

0Still 35 years old, Argentine midfielder Héctor Canteros, formerly of Flamengo, is still active in football. However, perhaps far from where he expected at that point in his career. After playing for clubs such as Vélez, Villareal, Flamengo, Chapecoense, among other European clubs, the athlete is playing for Camioneros, a third division team in Argentina.
Since his arrival in the new team, Canteros has played in three games and scored one goal. Currently, Camioneros is in tenth place in its division, with five points won in five rounds. The ex-Flamengo player will return to the field on Saturday, the 27th, to try to get his new team back on the winning track.
Before arriving at Flamengo in 2014, Canteros stood out with the Vélez shirt, a spell that made him transfer to Villareal, from Spain. With his football, he appeared in the Argentina's national team, but got very rare opportunities. His most notable moment in the national team was in the friendly against Brazil, in 2011, where he became a starter. In this match, Brazil and Argentina could not call up athletes who played in Europe.
Héctor Canteros wore the Rubro-Negro Mantle during the years 2014, 2015 and early 2016. While he was Playing for Mengão, Canteros played 88 games, where he scored just five goals and provided seven assists. Therefore, his time at Flamengo was below expectations. Furthermore, a joke among the Red and Black fans was to say that when Canteros missed a pass, in fact he was passing the ball to his 'imaginary friend'.
During his three seasons at Flamengo, Canteros failed to win any title. The closest was 2015 Guanabara Cup, in which Rubro-Negro drew with Nova Iguaçu and saw Botafogo become champion at Nilton Santos.
Like Rubro-negro, Martial suffered from injuries in 2023/24
