The soap opera Maracanãwon another chapter this Friday (19). The RNGD Consortium, from Arena 360, manager of Mané Garrincha, filed an appeal to continue in the dispute for the Rio de Janeiro stadium. The group claims that the notice drawn up by the State Government lacks clarity and questions the loss of points in the process due to the dates offered

The RNGD Consortium was disqualified for not reaching the minimum number of games set out in the bidding notice . However, Arena 360 disputes the decision, stating that the dates belong to the Confederations, such as the CBF, and not to the clubs. The company also emphasizes that the call instrument does not specify how each of the competitors must prove the number of games proposed and that they will meet the requirement of 70 matches.

The RNGD consortium, from Arena 360, filed an appeal to continue in the dispute for Maracanã. The group claims that the notice drawn up by the State Government lacks clarity and vehemently questions the loss of points due to the dates offered.

According to the Arena 360 board, the dates belong to the Confederations, such as the CBF, and not the clubs, and emphasizes that the call instrument does not specify how each of the competitors must prove the number of games proposed. Arena highlighted in its proposal the commitment to hold at least 70 games.

The competitor emphasizes that the notice itself mentions the Maracanã Stadium's vocation as the World Temple of Football, and that the concessionaire should make efforts to hold as many football games as possible per year. Furthermore, it states that, throughout the analysis of the proposals, the Bidding Committee conducted the work without maintaining contact with the consortium, failing to take steps to provide clarifications.

In addition to Arena 360, Maracanã para Todos consortium , formed by Vasco and WTorre, also appealed. Despite having been qualified for the next phase of the bidding, the competitor claims that the process benefited the duo Flamengo and Fluminense, current stadium managers and favorites to win the dispute, as their rivals' scores were much higher than the others.

Flamengo continues its search for the construction of its own stadium, focusing on the Gasmetro site located in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Negotiations with Caixa Econômica Federal have advanced, with the club willing to raise its initial proposal to acquire the space, estimated at R$250 million.

Marcos Bodin, one of Flamengo's directors, together with the team lawyers and experts in arena construction, is developing an “ideal project” to be presented to the land administrator.

President Rodolfo Landim's perspective is optimistic, receiving positive feedback that prompted the organization of a meeting with Caixa Econômica to discuss in detail the amounts involved. Rio's city hall, under the management of Eduardo Paes, also showed support for the project, promising to forward a law to the Chamber that would facilitate the transfer of the construction potential of Flamengo's headquarters, Gávea, strengthening the club's financial proposal.

Meanwhile, Maracanã still remains a fundamental piece for Flamengo, who are favorites, together with Fluminense, in the bid to manage the stadium for another 20 years. This plan contemplates the use of Maracanã in the first five years, the estimated period for the completion of the new stadium.

Vini Jr continues writing his story at Real Madrid. Acquired in 2018 for approximately R$164 million, according to the price at the time, from Flamengo, the Brazilian player reached the milestone of 11 titles with the recent victory of the Spanish Championship, last Saturday (4).

This is the third time that Vini Jr has lifted the Spanish Championship trophy, having also won in the 2019/20 and 2021/22. With 11 titles for Real Madrid, the number 7 is approaching the mark of former full-back Roberto Carlos, who won 13 titles, consolidating himself more and more in the club's history.

In turn, Marcelo, currently at Fluminense, leads the list of Brazilians with the most titles in Real Madrid's history, totaling 25. He is tied with Benzema, currently at Al-Ittihad, in Saudi Arabia, in addition to Modric and Nacho, who equaled the mark after recently winning the Spanish Championship.

The list of the most successful Brazilians for Real Madrid also includes midfielder Casemiro, currently at Manchester United, with 18 titles. In the current squad, Vini Jr, with 11 wins, has one more than Rodrygo and Éder Militão, both with 10. The difference lies in the 2018 Club World Cup.

In addition, Vini Jr, Rodrygo and Éder Militão have the opportunity to increase the number of titles this season. Real Madrid can guarantee a place in the Champions League final if they win over Bayern Munich, from Germany, next Wednesday (8), at 4pm (Brasília time), at the Santiago Bernabéu. It is worth mentioning that the trio were champions of the competition in the 2021/22 season.

After winning his 11th title with the Real Madrid shirt, Vini Jr did not miss the chance to provoke Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo. The Uruguayan defender had provoked the Real Madrid team the previous year, stating that it was the "beginning of a new era" for Barcelona after winning the Spanish title.

In response, Vini Jr ironically published the same sentence, citing a post with the titles of the new generation of Merengues players, such as Rodrygo, Militão, Valverde, Tchouaméni, Camavinga, Bellingham, among others.
