< The highlight of the match, Luiz Araújo, participated for the first time in the program “Resenha do Jogo”, on FlaTV, this Friday (14). After coming off the bench and scoring two great goals, Araújo commented on his memorable performance, training and Flamengo's next challenge.
“It was a great goal, I spent the whole night rewatching the video. This finish is not easy to get right, but I was very happy. We practice a lot of finishing and crossing plays. We have Bruno Henrique and Pedro, who are very strong in the air. Thank God it's working. I'm very happy to score a goal and help Mengão.”

The 11th round of the Brazilian Championship continues this Sunday (1st) with a marathon of matches spread throughout the day. After the victories of Bahia and Red Bull Bragantino on Saturday, against São Paulo and Vasco , respectively, another eight matches move the round this Sunday - with emphasis on the duel between Flamengo and Fortaleza , at Maracanã.
The first match of the day takes place at 11 am, with Mirassol and Sport facing off in São Paulo . At 4 pm, two regional classics will liven up the round: Juventude hosts Grêmio in Caxias do Sul, while Santos faces Botafogo in Vila Belmiro.
Later, at 6:30 pm, Flamengo will take to the field at Maracanã with the support of the Red-Black Nation . The opponent this time is Fortaleza, in a direct confrontation that could put the Rio de Janeiro team in the lead of the competition, as long as Palmeiras stumbles against Cruzeiro , at Mineirão, at 7:30 pm.
At the same time as Flamengo vs Fortaleza, two other important games will take place: Ceará will face Atlético-MG at Castelão and Corinthians will face Vitória at Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo. Closing the round, at 8:30 pm, Internacional will host Fluminense at Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre.
After the end of this Sunday's games, the Brasileirão will be paused due to the FIFA World Cup . Activities will resume after June 10, the deadline for the return of the called-up players. There will be games of the 12th round of the championship on Wednesday (11) and Thursday (12), but Mengão's match was postponed due to the Club World Cup.
No one is counting on a guaranteed spot, whether it's a tactical choice or because none of the options are going through an incredible phase.

Flamengo faces Fortaleza today , at 6:30 pm, at Maracanã , dreaming of taking the lead in the Brazilian Championship. With a backbone already defined by coach Filipe Luís, Rubro-Negro still has vacancies in the attack , which makes the sector with the most fierce disputes in the season.
There is, so far, no one with a guaranteed spot among the forwards , either by tactical choice or because none of the options are going through an uncontested phase. The striker who played the most in 2025 was Luiz Araújo . He played 27 matches, with five goals and five assists.
Right behind him is Bruno Henrique , with 25 games, six goals and one assist. In the sights of the Federal Police for allegations of involvement in match-fixing, he is suffering his second worst drought without scoring since joining Flamengo in 2019. He has now failed to score in 14 games.
Everton Cebolinha, Michael and Juninho are balanced . The first has played 21 games and the others 20. Cebolinha and Juninho have three goals and Michael only one, but the little guy has four assists.
A little behind are Plata and Pedro . The Ecuadorian - who has played 17 matches - has a bone edema in his right knee and has no return date. His clinical situation, in fact, caused Flamengo to clash with the Ecuadorian federation, which called him up for the Qualifiers without his knowledge. Pedro - who has played 13 matches - only returned to the field on April 9 after being out for seven months due to a serious knee injury.
Recently, Filipe Luís added another player to the competition: the young Wallace Yan, just 20 years old. A promising player from the red-black youth team, the boy has been gaining more and more space in the professional team and has already played 13 games, scored four goals and provided three assists.
