Remembering that the player entered the field after Cebolinha left injured.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONT

So, with Luiz Araújo at his disposal, Tite has already started preparing the squad for the next clash. Mais Querido returns to the field this Thursday (20), in a match against Bahia. On Saturday afternoon (28), Flamengo held its last training session before facing Athletico-PR in the Brasileirão. A clash that could decide the future of coach Tite at Mengão, was attended by all the players considered to be starters, despite the expectation of a mixed team for Sunday (29).

In content published on social media of Flamengo, names like Bruno Henrique and Alex Sandro, who were starters in the Libertadores elimination, last Thursday (26), appear alongside young fledglings, such as Matheus Gonçalves and Evertton, who have been widely used in the “reserve team ” by Tite.

Flamengo may have held the last training session under Tite's command.

With his destiny becoming more uncertain at Flamengo, Tite may having led his last training session as coach of Rubro-Negro. There are four games without a win, a bad result, or poorly presented football against Athletico-PR, could mean the end of the line for the coach, just under a year after his arrival.

In the semi-finals of Copa do Brasil, where they face Corinthians, and in the G4 of the Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro's objective is clear, to become CdB champion, and remain in the classification zone for the next Libertadores in the points championship.

Revealed by Flamengo, center forward Wendel Silva is shining in his start at Santos and becoming one of the main names in the attempt to recover the team in Series B. At 24 years old, the striker was decisive in the 2-1 victory over América-MG this Sunday (15), with a goal and an assist, achieving his fourth direct participation in goals in just four games.

With these contributions, Wendel maintains an average of one direct participation per game, having scored two goals and provided two assists since his arrival at Santos. All these moves were fundamental to the team's results.

Wendel's debut with participation in a goal came in the 2-2 draw against Ponte Preta, where he gave the pass to Giuliano to open the scoring. In his third game, he scored a great goal against Brusque, securing a 1-0 victory with a beautiful first-time shot into the corner. Check it out.

With 12 rounds remaining in Series B, Santos occupies second place, with 46 points, just one point behind the leader Novorizontino. The club is certainly counting on Wendel's good form to continue fighting for the title.

Hero at Flamengo's academy, but with little space in the main team

Wendel Silva had a successful career in the youth categories of Flamengo, winning seven titles, including the Brazilian Super Cup (2019 ), the Brazilian Under-20 Championship (2019), and the São Paulo Junior Football Cup (2018). He scored the winning goal in the Copinha, in the 1-0 victory over São Paulo.

Despite his success at youth level, Wendel had few opportunities in Flamengo's main team, playing just five matches in the Campeonato Carioca from 2018 and 2020. After leaving the club, he played for Leixões and Porto, in Portugal, until he agreed with Santos in 2024.
