In addition to a midfielder, Flamengo analyzed other positions in the last transfer window and continues to keep an eye on the market to reinforce the squad

Behind the scenes at Flamengo are busy looking for reinforcements for next season. The Rio club, always attentive to market opportunities, is now focusing on signing midfielder Marcos Antônio, currently at Lazio, in Italy. In addition to him, there are other names on the agenda, but which have not yet been leaked to the press.
Directors Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel, responsible for Flamengo's negotiations, will soon embark for Europe. The report found that the English capital, London, is on the itinerary, suggesting that directors are keeping an eye on more than one player and that talks could involve other European clubs besides Lazio.
MARCOS ANTONIO IS A PRIORITY MÁXIMA
Marcos Antônio is 24 years old and has already accepted the proposal from Flamengo for a one-year loan. The young midfielder, who stood out in European football, welcomes the opportunity to wear the red and black shirt and return to Brazil to play for one of the country's biggest clubs. However, the negotiation is not simple and there are still pending issues to be resolved with the Italian club.
The main obstacle to completing the loan are the triggers that would determine the purchase obligation at the end of the period. Lazio wants to ensure that Flamengo commits to buying the player permanently if some goals are achieved during the loan. The red-black leaders will travel to Rome to try to adjust these details and close the agreement.

Flamengo will have a ‘new home’ in the coming seasons. Last Friday (05), midfielder Matteus Oliveira was announced by Khorfakkan, a club in the United Arab Emirates. The athlete, who is the son of Bebeto, a four-time world champion striker with the Brazilian team, signed a two-year contract with the team.
Matteus arrives at Khorfakkan to reinforce the club's current squad. This is because, last season, Flamengo's current team fought against relegation in the local championship. At the time, the club finished in 12th place, two positions higher than the teams that ended up falling in the tournament.
Before moving to Khorfakkan, Matteus Oliveira played in the Portuguese Championship playing for Farense (POR ). Furthermore, in Portugal, the midfielder has already played for Estoril, Sporting, Vitória Guimarães, Coritiba and Mafra.
At Flamengo since 2004, Matteus was one of the main 'jewels' of the youth teams. Before moving up to Mengo's professionals, the athlete won the Copa São Paulo Futebol Júnior, in 2011. Finally, the player's debut in Fla's main team took place in 2012, in a duel valid for the Brazilian Championship.
< During the period in which he played for Flamengo, Matteus gained several opportunities. Thus, coaches such as Joel Santana, Dorival Júnior, among others, were the first to have the athlete in the red-black squad.Fla's coach didn't like the attacker's attitude and the broadcast caught the moment

Flamengo ended up in a 1-1 draw against Cuiabá, on Saturday night (6), at Maracanã, in the Brazilian Championship. Dourado took the lead with Derick, but Pedro equalized.
Fla played a game below expectations, with many difficulties in setting up plays, which hampered the team's chances of goals led by coach Tite.
The coach, in fact, was a character in a curious moment caught by the cameras during the Premiere broadcast. In the second half, striker Pitta, from Cuiabá, fell and asked for a free kick in the middle. Tite didn't like it and scolded him.
The image shows the Flamengo coach very irritated with the opposing player, who quickly gets up and, somewhat without understanding, even apologizes to Tite.
““ Get up! You fall all the time!”“, shouted the Flamengo coach at the Paraguayan. The moment was highlighted in the broadcast, given that it is an unusual scene when it comes to Tite.
The club still dreams of reinforcement for the most questioned position in the current squad

With Varela serving for the Uruguayan national team in the Copa América, Wesley once again assumed the role of Flamengo's starting right-back. After an encouraging start in 2023, Wesley fell from production, got involved in some off-field confusion and ended up being relegated to the position of permanent reserve for the Uruguayan full-back.
But the fact is that neither Wesley nor Varela move on to the red and black fans the security they want for the position and the fans dream of having a full-back as competent as Rafinha again in his time at the club between 2019 and 2020.
Tite seeks a balance in the setup of the squad and knows that his left side, with Ayrton Lucas and Matias Viña, is much stronger than his right side. However, the red-and-black coach defined a box-to-box midfielder and a right winger as priorities. Flamengo's football board is still in the market looking for options on the right flank and knows that the fans' demand is for a full-back who definitively solves the problem in the sector.
For this reason, the board understands that the name must be well studied and that the signing, if it happens, must be to put an end to the problem definitively, remedying the judicious will of its fans.
Khleven, formerly of Atlético-PR, who is now at CSKA da Russia, was surveyed recently, but the great performance of the 23-year-old right-back in his first season for the Russian team made him value it and today the values are outside of what Flamengo understands to reinforce itself in the next window.
Gonzalo Montiel is another name that has always interested Flamengo's board and the Red and Black fans approve.
Returning from a loan from Nottingham Forest, Sevilla has not yet defined what the athlete's situation will be. With the retirement of Jesus Navas, the Argentine defender could gain another chance in the Spanish team.
Recently, Montiel said he wanted to remain in Europe, whether at Sevilla or another club, and that the moment he decides to return to South America, River Plate will be your priority.
