Samuel Lino shows frustration with the draw between Flamengo and Grêmio

On the afternoon of this past Friday (12), Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel held a press conference after Carlinhos' presentation. Asked about the return of goalkeeper Hugo Souza, on loan to Chaves (POR), the directors highlighted that they do not have the archer at the moment.
"It's a loan. The holder is Flamengo, if the loan ends and there is no market, we respect the contract and he comes back, but, to be clear, in our minds at the first moment, we don't count on the player. We brought Rossi, there is a reserve that we think is very high quality (Matheus Cunha), there's a boy from the base who's already very well-rounded here (Lucas Furtado), and he's already more than suited to the environment", he said, before continuing:
"So , we at this first moment, we don't see it as a possibility of his return. Unless a market situation happens, which I think is very unlikely, even given his performances, even due to his stature, even due to his maturity already Outside of here, I personally like him a lot and hope he has an even better career sequence than he has had so far", concluded Marcos Braz.
HUGO IS FEATURED IN PORTUGAL
Loaned to Chaves (POR) for Flamengo, Hugo Souza is the standout goalkeeper in Portugal. The archer has been playing great games and has gained the coach's trust. The player's contract with the Portuguese team will run until June this year. To give in Hugo, the Mais Querido fixed 50% of the economic rights for 1.2 million euros (R$6 million). Thus, if the Portuguese club is interested in purchasing the athlete, Rubro-Negro will receive half the value.
FLAMENGO'S FOCUS ON THE BRASILEIRÃO'S DEBUT
While Hugo Souza continues to stand out in Portugal and waiting to have their future defined, the Flamengo squad focuses on the debut of the Brasileirão. That's because Mais Querido will go to Goiânia where they will face Atlético GO this Sunday (14), at 4pm.
After a sequence of games since the Club World Cup, the Mengão squad will finally have consecutive days to rest due to the national team games.

Flamengo drew 1-1 with Grêmio last Sunday (31), at Maracanã, in the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship. After the match, which had a full house, the red-black squad was given four days of rest .
The break is due to the FIFA Date, which starts this Monday (1st). During the period, the national calendar will be paralyzed for the dispute of another round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. The group led by Filipe Luís will return on Friday (5), at Ninho do Urubu, to resume preparation for the rest of the season.
Rubro-Negro only took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Arrascaeta, following an assist from Pedro. Grêmio, however, equalized with a hotly contested penalty from the Mais Querido side , but it was converted by goalkeeper Thiago Volpi.

Filipe Luís's team returns to action on September 14th, against Juventude, at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium, at 4 pm (Brasília time), for the 23rd round of the Brasileirão. Despite the setback, Mengão remains top of the Brasileirão with 47 points . Palmeiras, who tied with Corinthians, dropped to third place with 43. Cruzeiro, with 44, took over second place.
Mengão drew 1-1 with Tricolor at Maracanã and the player returned to the starting lineup after a long period out of the coach's starting 11.

"He ( De La Cruz ) asked to be substituted. He recovered, had a good training session, and is back in good shape. He brings a lot of dynamism to our midfield, both in attack and defense . He's one of the pillars of the team, and I'm very happy to have him back," said the coach.
"By the time he left, we were already suffering, struggling to play. Not because of his departure per se, but because of the context of the game , where we were trying more to defend the result than maintain momentum. We ended up suffering even more," concluded Filipe Luís.
Since arriving at Flamengo , De La Cruz has missed 34 matches . The Uruguayan even became the subject of controversy after a former club doctor mentioned, in a WhatsApp group, the existence of an alleged chronic injury.
With the Uruguayan available again, Flamengo returns to the field only on September 14th due to the break for the FIFA Date , against Juventude, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Alfredo Jaconi stadium, for the 23rd round of the Brasileirão. With the draw, Mengão remains in the lead of the Brasileirão, but saw the advantage over Cruzeiro drop to just three points, but with a game less than Raposa.
The coach says he is pleased to see the striker fulfilling his dream of wearing the yellow shirt, but he doesn't want to see him on the field in one of the matches.

The player received the news on Saturday (30), after the injury of Matheus Cunha, from Manchester United. Called up by Carlo Ancelotti, Lino will be part of the group that will play the next two games of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers: against Chile, on September 4, at Maracanã, and against Bolivia, on the 9th, in El Alto , a Bolivian city located at an altitude of 4,150 meters.
Filipe Luís highlighted the striker's qualities and his importance to the team: " He's a unique player. When he gets the ball, he's decisive , has a good dribble, and poses a threat, especially in areas where we need to create an advantage," he analyzed.
The coach reinforced his confidence in Lino's potential: " I'm sure he'll improve a lot and bring us much joy . He was rewarded with this call-up, and it's well deserved," said the Flamengo coach about Samuel Lino.
Despite celebrating his debut with the national team, Filipe Luís expressed concern about the forward's use against Bolivia. "I hope he plays at the Maracanã, not in Bolivia, and returns in full condition to help the team ," he said, referring to the risks of physical fatigue caused by the altitude.
Flamengo will not play during the FIFA International Day. Their return is scheduled for September 14th against Juventude at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium , for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship. Despite the draw against Grêmio, Mengão remains top of the Brasileirão with 47 points.
