Flamengo drew with Athletico-PR this past Sunday afternoon (16). However, the score was equal with the taste of victory. That's because Mais Querido's players believed until the end and didn't give up looking for the goal. After the match, Matheus Bachi praised the red and black fans at the press conference.

"The fans today were really fierce, they were really fierce. In moments when we imposed ourselves in the match, we managed to make their fans tense Our fans didn't give up and it was a reflection of our team. We're going to need them a lot later on. A mistake is part of football and when a player makes a mistake and then the fans applaud and encourage him, his confidence doesn't drop. a boo, no matter how much support the teammate gives, sometimes he gets discouraged. Fans will help us a lot against Bahia and in Fla-Flu, because fans go where we go", said Matheus Bachi.

FLAMENGO'S SITUATION IN THE BRASILEIRÃO AND ABSTRACTS

Despite the extensive list of absences, Mais Querido was imposing and managed to equalize in the last minute of the match. Thus, Rubro-Negro now occupies second place on the leaderboard, with 18 points. The leader is Botafogo, with 19.

To return to the leadership of the competition, Mais Querido will have to beat Bahia and hope for a stumble by Botafogo, who also face Athletico-PR. Thus, Rubro-Negro will be able to take first place again.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

So, after the draw with Athletico-PR, the Mais Querido squad focuses on the match against Bahia. Rubro-Negro returns to the field this Thursday (20), at Maracanã, at 8pm. The game will be valid for the tenth round of the Brasileirão.

The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.

The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.

What will the Super Mundial be like?

< The competition organized by FIFA will be played for the first time with 32 teams next year. The United States will host the first edition of the tournament in this format. The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups with four teams each, with them facing each other in a single round. The top two in each group will advance to the round of 16. The knockout stage will be played in a single game.

The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.

In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.
