Matheus Gonçalves, aged 18, had his first chance to show service under Tite's command in the starting team Flamengo. And it didn't disappoint. The young red-and-black promise stood out on the field, making it clear that he is a talent to be watched closely. Let's take a look at the numbers that prove the young player's excellent performance.

Matheus was on the field for the 90 minutes of the match, quite a responsibility for someone his age. He not only managed to maintain the pace, but also stood out in several statistics, showing his importance to the team. With three decisive passes, Matheus Gonçalves was the leader in this regard in the game. These passes are essential for creating scoring chances and maintaining pressure on the opponent, and the young player proved to be quite efficient in this role.

AN OPPORTUNITY NOT WASTED

Matheus was also highlighted in the submissions, with a total of five attempts, two of which were on target. He was the player who tried to score the most, showing that he is not afraid to take risks and that he is always looking for opportunities to score goals. In individual duels, Matheus emerged victorious in eight of the 14 he played, being the player of Flamengo with more duels won. This statistic demonstrates his ability to face opponents and come away with the ball, essential for maintaining possession and creating offensive plays.

The probable line-up of Flamengofor the clash against Peñarol in the Libertadores was released and brought some surprises, especially in the defensive formation and in the midfield. The coach opted for a formation that seeks a balance between defensive strength and offensive creativity, with the inclusion of key players in important sectors of the team.

In goal, the chosen one is Rossi, who has been the starter in the competition . Since his arrival at Flamengo, Rossi has shown himself to be a confident goalkeeper, with good reading of the game and quick reflexes, being a reliable player in the defensive sector. He has been playing a fundamental role in big games and seems to have gained the trust of the coaching staff and the fans.

The defensive line will feature Varela on the right flank, Fabrício Bruno and Léo Pereira at the back, and Alex Sandro on the left flank. The defensive sector has been a point of concern throughout the season, especially with some failures in previous games. However, the choice of Fabrício Bruno and Léo Pereira seeks to bring greater solidity, as both come from good performances, especially Léo Pereira, who stood out with good interceptions and precision in tackles.

FLAMENGO WILL COME WITH MAXIMUM STRENGTH

Varela, in turn, has alternated between moments of regularity and a drop in performance, but his defensive and offensive potential keeps him as an option to close down the right flank. On the other side, Alex Sandro was chosen to play on the left, in an attempt to provide greater stability and experience to the team. The left-back has been the target of recent changes, and the choice of Alex Sandro suggests that the coach wants a more definitive solution for the sector, betting on his defensive capacity and the quality he can bring in quick exits.

< p>The midfield of Flamengogoes with a very interesting formation, with Léo Ortiz acting as midfielder, accompanied by De La Cruz and Arrascaeta. The option for Léo Ortiz as a midfielder draws attention, as he is a defender by origin. However, this adaptation is not new in football and could be an attempt by the coach to add more protection to the defense, while taking advantage of the player's good ball release and vision of the game.
