Winning the under-20 world title Flamengotook place with a lot of emotion. This is because, the team conquered the world exactly at the time when it would have included a large part of the young people who died in the Tragedy of Ninho do Urubu, on February 8, 2019. When giving an interview to FlaTV, Matheus Gonçalves broke down in tears when talking about the subject.

In an interview that aired this past Tuesday (27) along with the behind-the-scenes of the achievement, Matheus Gonçalves couldn't contain his tears when he saw his teammates paying homage to the 10 Boys of the Nest. Iago, who was a great friend of Arthur Vinícius, one of the victims, wore a shirt with the eternal child's face for each title he won. It was like that in the under-20 Brasileirão and it was repeated against Olympiacos.

In addition, Dyogo Alves, who was one of the survivors of the tragedy, also paid tribute to the boys. For this reason, Matheus Gonçalves, crying, mentioned these two tributes and remembered living the dream that also belonged to his teammates.

“Then you can see Iago with Arthur's shirt, see Dyogo with the Garotos do Ninho shirt. I'm sure they wanted to be here too, experiencing this moment. So it is very exciting and gratifying to be able to achieve this, to be the best Under-20 in the world”, says Matheus Gonçalves, in tears.

Led by coach Eduardo Zuma, the red-black team arrives at the clash after winning four victories in the last five games. In the final round of the first phase, Mengão beat Corinthians 5-0, securing third place in group A, with 15 points. There were five wins in nine games and 19 goals scored, the second best attack in the group.

Flamengo is a great showcase for Europe, not only for renowned professional players but also for the youth team. In this way, Rubro-Negro anticipated renewing and increasing the termination fine on Joshua's contract, an athlete considered a jewel of the under-17s.

The young man has been monitored by European teams since he was little. For standing out in Mais Querido in the Copa Rio U-17, the midfielder caught the attention of some clubs. Therefore, Flamengo did not want to waste time and renewed the athlete, increasing the termination fine to 70 million euros (R$ 426 million) with a contract until 2029.

JOSHUA'S RENEWAL

Joshua signed a new contract with Flamengo this past Tuesday (17). Thus, the young midfielder already has his second professional contract with Rubro-Negro. Before this happened, the player was champion with the Most Wanted of the Copa Rio under-17 against Vasco.

Making the title of jewel worth it, Joshua was once again decisive for Rubro-Negro. This is because, with the match approaching the end, the midfielder took responsibility and scored Mais Querido's second goal, leaving the score in favor at 2 to 1.

Throughout his time in Mais Querido's youth categories, Joshua has scored more than 100 goals. In the last under-17 match, the midfielder scored against Vasco on two occasions and, in addition, provided an assist. The number 10 was also chosen as the competition's top scorer.

Flamengo appealed a court decision regarding part of the amount of approximately R$3 million in compensation to be paid to family members of Christian Esmério, one of the ten victims of the fire at CT Ninho do Urubu in 2019< /a>. This Tuesday (27), the club filed a declaration embargo in questioning the compensation for Cria's family.

According to the newspaper O Globo, the court decision for compensation was determined by judge André Aiex Baptista Martins, head of the 33rd Civil Court of Rio, but the club does not feel justice in the decision, at least not completely . The red-black legal department requests clarification regarding the R$120,000 in moral damages that should be deposited in favor of Christian's beloved brother, Alessandro da Silva dos Santos, raised by the fire victim's mother, but who is actually his uncle of him.

"Despite being initially described as the brother of the victim Christiano Esmério Cândido, he is actually his uncle on his mother's side. Therefore, he adopted the embargoed sentence" the understanding reached by the Colendo Superior Court of Justice (STJ), according to which, for the purposes of active legitimacy in cases of indirect or reflex moral damage (ricochet), the link to be considered in the family nucleus is presumably close in relation to the victim's parents and siblings", argues the Rio club.

"As the sentence itself attested, the aforementioned author presented himself as the victim's brother, in this capacity to formulate a compensation claim for moral damages, when in fact he is his uncle, altering the truth of the facts in behavior that would be capable of misleading attentive judgment, the false information would not be noticed when the sentence was handed down. Therefore, it is necessary to face the issue of litigation in bad faith", adds the request.

The legal maneuver is seen by the defense of Andréia and Cristiano, Christian's parents, as an attempt for Flamengo to postpone the decision not to pay the amount established in court. According to magistrate's decision, both Christian's mother and father must receive R$ 1.412 million each. The judge also determined that Christian's parents receive a pension worth five minimum wages (R$ 7 thousand).

The pension, however, has been paid correctly by Flamengo. The closing date, in fact, was set when the victim turned 45 years old or when their parents died. The compensation requested by parents is also questioned by the club.
