Flamengo seems to have created a method after great financial return with the transfer of defender Otávio in Portuguese football. Rubro-Negro has already traded seven Boys from the Nest to lesser-known teams in Portugal in this mid-year window alone. Most deals do not involve financial compensation, and the club keeps a percentage of the rights betting on future sales.
Otávio earned 3.5 million euros (R$ 19.2 million) into Flamengo's coffers when he transfer from Famalicão to Porto at the beginning of this year. The defender had no space at Mengão, who agreed to release him for 500 thousand euros (R$2.7 million) at the beginning of 2023, but kept 30% of the rights. He quickly stood out in the Portuguese league and was bought in a total transaction of 12 million euros (R$ 64.2 million).
Now, the football department indicates trying to create new similar situations with young people with little or no space in the professional team. There were seven athletes traded in this window, only three with immediate financial compensation, and in all of them they keep some portion of the player thinking about a future sale.

On the afternoon of this Tuesday (24), hundreds of red and black fans gathered at Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, to support the Flamengo as they embark for Montevideo, where they will face Peñarol, in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores. Despite recent criticism of coach Tite and the team's performance, the moment was one of unconditional support, in a traditional "AeroFla".
Unlike other occasions, Mengão's boarding took place through the airport's cargo terminal, and not through the main hall. The measure was taken to avoid possible conflicts, as Botafogo was also scheduled to travel at a close time. Despite the more difficult access to the venue, several fans gathered at the railings to show support and shout words of encouragement, such as "Let's turn around, Mengo".

One of the most anticipated points for the match is the possible return of Léo Ortiz to the starting lineup. The player, who has been improvised as a midfielder, trained among the starters and should occupy the role of a classic '5' shirt, playing alongside De La Cruz in midfield.
