Defeated 3-0 by Flamengo in the first game of the Campeonato Carioca final, last Sunday (30), at Maracanã, Nova Iguaçu wants to do something different in the second game. After the unfavorable result, the players made it clear that they will work for a better performance in the second leg to seek victory, despite the difficult scenario.

“We knew how difficult it was to play against Flamengo, which was not concede goals. We need to turn around a very difficult situation, against a team of extreme quality. Unfortunately, the amount of error was much greater than we expected and could. When you make mistakes against a team like Flamengo, you end up conceding goals. They made fewer mistakes and took advantage. We have to play better than we did in that first match to play a game with dignity when we return", declared goalkeeper Fabrício.

"Football is difficult, but not impossible. We paid the price for playing poorly. And playing badly against Flamengo is surgical. We take an elastic scoreboard. I don't know if we will be able to reverse the result, but we have to play well to get closer to victory", said Bill.

The speech of the two athletes is in line with that of coach Carlos Vitor. In a press conference , the coach admitted that his team was below expectations, but highlighted that the team is fully capable of winning next week.

"We have to play a good game, do what we have been doing. It wasn't a day that we managed to develop. We have a week to prepare, talk, raise our self-esteem, and understand that this is part of the game. We didn't get here by chance. I will always emphasize this. Let's analyze everything so that we can play a great game on Sunday and seek victory", declared Cal.
