Against Criciúma, Gabigol completed his seventh game in the Brazilian Championship. As a result, the attacker must remain at Flamengo until the end of the contract, in December, unless an attractive proposal emerges from the abroad until the end of the transfer window. However, President Rodolfo Landim's intention, according to MRN, is not to make any new proposal to renew the player.

The last proposal made by the board was not well received by Gabigol, resulting in an interview with his manager announcing that he would negotiate with other clubs and in the striker's absence for three matches.

After yesterday's match, Gabigol himself expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the board treated him, stating that it was not treatment worthy of an idol. “Many things were agreed that were not fulfilled. They did not act in a good way, in my opinion, with an idol”, stated the player.

AGREEMENT NOT FULFILLED

The "things that were not fulfilled" mentioned by Gabigol refer to a five-year renewal agreement, with a total value of 12 million euros above what he currently receives. This value was agreed after negotiations with Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel in 2023. However, Landim vetoed the signing of the contract, as he understood that Gabigol's performance during the season did not justify this investment.

PERFORMANCE IN FALL

Last year, Gabigol scored just 20 goals, his lowest number in a full season for Flamengo, and ended the year as a substitute. This drop in performance influenced Landim's decision not to renew the striker's contract for such high amounts.
