One of the big signings of this window, Gonzalo Plata < /a>arrived to add to Flamengo's attack. In a position that is of utmost importance in Tite's scheme, who likes to explore the sides of the team, the athletes who play there tend to participate a lot in goals, and given the absence of Michael and Cebolinha, the Ecuadorian becomes a key player in this.< /p>

In comparison to the wingers of Mengão's squad, when it comes to average assists, Plata is only behind Micha and Cebolinha, who are injured. While the newcomer has an average of 6 passes to goal in the last three seasons, Everton appears with 7.66 and Michael with 7.33.

Luiz Araújo, who has been a starter, has an average of 5.66, and Bruno Henrique, the lowest of them, as it is not his characteristic, with 3.66.

With this in mind, for the development of this decisive season for Rubro-Negro, Gonzalo Plata appears as one of the creative references in such a lacking attack. Being able to not only deliver dribbling and speed, which are perhaps his main characteristics, but also the quality to leave his teammate in front of goal.

Gonzalo Plata will have strong competition from Luiz Araújo at Flamengo Hired to replace Cebolinha's heavy absence, Gonzalo Plata arrives at Flamengo and sees Luiz Araujo, who has been replacing the number 11, shine.

Already with ten assists in the season, five of which in the season alone Brasileirão, where he leads Rubro-Negro in this regard, LA is experiencing an atypical year in his career. Known much more for his speed and physical delivery on the field, this is the first time in the athlete's career that passes to goal have become his strong point.

Thus, Plata will have to show a lot of quality in his opportunities that will arise, as with Michael's return in a few weeks, and Luiz Araújo's maintenance of this consistency, it may be difficult for the Ecuadorian to secure a place among Tite's starters.

Flamengo faces the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América this Thursday. The opponent will be Peñarol from Uruguay and the match will take place at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time). However, the directors participated in a dinner last night (Wednesday).

Directors from Flamengo and Peñarol met at the traditional dinner on the eve of clashes in the Conmebol Libertadores. Rubro-Negro was represented at the meeting by the vice-president of the Presidency's Office and Member of the Football Council, Diogo Lemos, by the vice-president of External Relations, Gony Arruda, and by the executive director of football, Bruno Spindel.

FLAMENGO WILL HAVE ARRASCAETA AND DE LA CRUZ

In the match against Peñarol, Rubro-Negro will have the return of Arrascaeta in the starting lineup. Fla's number 14 started on the bench against Vasco, but replaced Luiz Araújo, who was injured. Meanwhile, De La Cruz also returns to the starting 11 after recovering from injury. Finally, Gonzalo Plata and Alex Sandro had good performances against Vasco and should be kept for the match.

PEÑAROL ENDS PREPARATION

Just like Flamengo , the Peñarol (URU) squad also finished its preparation this Wednesday (18), focusing on the Libertadores clash. The Uruguayans used Botafogo's CT for the last training session before the game at Maracanã. It is worth noting that Peñarol’s training was “closed doors”.
