President spoke about the topic during FlaxFlu this Sunday
|
Fans of Flamengo dawned with the great news that Eduardo Paes decided to expropriate land from Gasologista to enable the construction of Flamengo's stadium. The club demonstrated shortly after celebrating the decision and, on the Maracanã lawn before the Fla x Flu kickoff, president Rodolfo Landim commented on the city hall's decision and next steps.
“Very happy. We had been talking to the city hall for a long time, showing its importance for the development of the region. The city hall had been trying for many years to work to improve the entire urban area. I have no doubt about the appreciation that the stadium will have across the entire area, it will be good for everyone. For Flamengo, for the city and for the State”, began Landim to Fla TV before Fla x Flu
The red-black representative stated that it is still necessary to wait to see all the demands and specifications of the decree which will be in the Official Gazette this Monday (24). But it makes it clear that Flamengo is prepared to buy the land and finally begin the next steps to build its stadium.
“Now we just have to wait and see what the Official Gazette says. But I can say that Flamengo is prepared to go ahead with the purchase of the land. We have been preparing to do this for some time. Flamengo has been structuring itself financially for a long time and preparing to make this move.”
Landim stated that, depending on the size of the land available, Flamengo is thinking about creating an area for fan fests, bars and places where fans can enjoy when they don't have tickets or even on days when Mengão doesn't play.
After publication of the decree that expropriates the land in the background that belongs to Caixa Econômica Federal, the place will go up for auction by public auction. The legal movement is a State mechanism to recover assets when there is default, social interest or some other motivation provided for by law.
Eduardo Paes included the obligation to build a convention center and revitalize the area. The auction's initial bid should be around R$147 to R$173 million, an amount that will be allocated to the state bank as a form of compensation.
Landim asks fans not to name the stadiumFlamengo believes it can obtain great value from negotiating the naming rights for its future stadium. A meeting had already taken place with Allianz, which has its name on the Bayern Munich stadium and has a contract with Palmeiras in Brazil. Therefore, even though it is unlikely, he asks for calm in the process of choosing the name.
“The name is one of the things that will be able to bring in a lot of revenue from the sale of naming rights. So calm down, this is an important thing to make construction viable. I know they will end up giving it a nickname, but officially it is important not to call it anything, especially because it will be important to make money from it”, said Rodolfo Landim.
On social media, many fans say there is no name option. better than a tribute to Zico: Estádio Arthur Antunes Coimbra.
