Athletico Paranaense officially announced the arrival of 20-year-old striker Petterson as its latest reinforcement. In a temporary transfer from Flamengo, the player joins the Furacão squad with a one-year contract and economic rights set at three million euros (R$16 million). His current commitment to the Rio team extends until December 2026.

Since last Monday, Petterson has already been involved in training with Athletico's main squad, now awaiting the completion of the registration of his contract in the Daily Newsletter from CBF. Once formalized, the player will be available to coach Juan Carlos Osorio to contribute with his skill and dynamism on the field.

The striker expressed his satisfaction in wearing the Athletico shirt and thanked him for the opportunity he received. In his words: "I'm very happy here at Athletico. When the proposal came, I didn't think twice. I know how great the club is. I hope to achieve many things, make history here. It's a place that can change my life. And I really want to give back to everyone for this opportunity."

It is worth mentioning that Petterson, despite his youth, was about to take an even more significant leap in his career. Barcelona showed interest in signing him, proposing a 10-month loan with a purchase option set at 4 million euros (R$21.3 million) for 70% of the economic rights. However, a punishment related to the violation of Financial Fair Play frustrated this possibility, interrupting the much-desired transfer.

Barcelona's proposal involved a negotiation that could reach up to 10 million euros (R$53.4 million ), considering bonuses and goals to be achieved. Even faced with this international opportunity, Petterson chose to follow his path at Athletico, seeing the club from Paraná as a favorable environment for his development and the achievement of his goals in football.

Thus, the young striker now joins the ranks from Furacão, eager to leave his mark and contribute to the team's success. The fans eagerly await Petterson's performances, confident that the player's talent and determination will be fundamental to building new achievements on the sporting scene. Athletico, in turn, welcomes with open arms a promising reinforcement, ready to write a new and exciting page in its trajectory.
