The coach left Rubro Negro after 39 games played
|
0Flamengo terminated the contract with Jorge Sampaoli on September 28th. The coach signed the contract termination last week and it has now been published in the Daily Newsletter (BID) of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). Therefore, the Argentine is officially separated from the club.
The marriage between Flamengo and Jorge Sampaoli did not work out. Hired to replace coach Vitor Pereira who lost all the titles played at the beginning of the season, the Argentine failed to classify Rubro Negro in the following stages of the Libertadores and was runner-up in the Copa do Brasil.
Furthermore, the coach did not speak to the club's employees and players. During his time at Mais Querido, there was confusion between his physical trainer and an athlete from Rubro Negro and aggression between players. Sampaoli always said that these conflicts were not his problem, which left the situation unsustainable.
Therefore, after days of negotiations, Flamengo has a new coach to lead the professional squad. Tite was the name chosen by Rubro Negro's board of directors to lead the team until the end of December 2024. Mais Querido's new commander began work this Tuesday (10).
With a new commander at the head of the club, the Rubro Negro squad will take advantage of the break in the Brazilian Championship to be able to focus on preparing for the next match which will be on October 19th, against Cruzeiro, at Estádio Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

0Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. Check it out:
"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

The Ecuadorian striker had a good game in the Rio de Janeiro classic

0Flamengo is going through a delicate moment due to important absences in the squad and needed to act quickly in the transfer market to make up for these gaps. The urgency caused the technical committee to accelerate the integration of new players into the starting lineup, a different strategy to that adopted at the beginning of the season.
Among the new reinforcements who have already been registered for the Libertadores are Alcaraz, Plata and Alex Sandro. These players were included as the three permitted changes for this stage of the tournament. With Michael's injury, he will only be able to be used if CRF advances to the semi-finals.
The Ecuadorian striker had a good game in the Rio derby last Sunday. In addition to playing on the right wing, the young man proved to be versatile when playing on both sides of the field, having the freedom to explore speed and dribbling. In this way, he managed to once again establish his presence in the starting team with the absence of Luiz Araújo and Pedro.
Flamengo, led by Tite, should enter the field with: Rossi; Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De La Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.
