The draw for the group stage of Libertadores took place last Monday night (18), in Luque, Paraguay. Therefore, for this year's edition, the South American competition will have a record prize pool of 23 million dollars (R$ 116 million at current prices) for the champion, in addition to the amounts that will be collected in previous matches.

A Conmebol announced that for 2024 the champion will receive a total of 23 million dollars (R$ 116 million). Thus, the value is 5 million dollars (R$ 25.1 million) more compared to 2023.

In addition to the amounts received for being champion, each team will have a bonus of 1 million dollars ( R$5 million) for each victory in the group stage. If you advance, you will have a prize of 330 thousand dollars (R$ 1.51 million) for qualifying in the competition.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.



Following is the Red and Black lineup:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region.
