0Probably without Murilo and Piquerez against Flamengo in the Copa do Brasil, Palmeiras received two good news at the beginning of the weekend: striker Estêvão and right-back Mayke should be available to the first leg of the round of 16 of the national tournament against Mengão. The match will be this Wednesday (31), at 8pm (Brasília time), at the Maracanã stadium.
According to GE, Estêvão and Mayke normally participated in Palmeiras training after the defeat of The Alviverde team beat Fluminense 1-0. Therefore, they can be related to the match this Saturday (27th), at 7pm (Brasília time), against Vitória, at Allianz Parque, for the Brasileirão. The game is valid for the 20th round of the competition.
Estêvão has recovered from mild sprains in his left knee and ankle. Mayke has recovered well from muscle edema. However, Abel Ferreira should not start the game with the duo in the starting lineup, aiming for a greater recovery for the clash against Flamengo.
The reinforcement of Estêvão is great news for Palmeiras, as in 2024 the young man scored seven goals and provided five assists in just 19 starts. In total, the striker participated in 29 matches in 2024.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
