The fourth round of the 2025 Brazilian Championship was a memorable night for Flamengo fans. At Maracanã, the team led by Filipe Luís crushed Juventude 6-0, achieving their biggest victory in the competition since 1985. On that occasion, the team had beaten Santa Cruz 7-0, also at the Rio stadium.

PERFORMANCE THAT DELIGHTS AND EXCITES THE FANS

The Mais Querido's performance was dominant from start to finish , with offensive volume, intensity and teamwork. The large score highlighted not only the opponent's weakness, but mainly the team's evolution under Filipe Luís's command. The coach, who took over the main squad this season, is starting to give a new face to Rubro-Negro, with a proactive and efficient style of play.

BIGGEST GOAL SINCE THE POINTS ERA

The result also equaled Mengão's biggest win in the points-based era , achieved in 2003, when they beat Bahia by the same score. In that match, names like Edílson "Capetinha" and Fernando were protagonists. Now, a new generation is beginning to write its own history with authority.

With high morale, Flamengo now turns its attention to the classic against Vasco , scheduled for this Saturday (19), at 6:30 pm, again at Maracanã. The clash is valid for the fifth round and promises to be hot, especially due to the recent history and the delicate moment experienced by the rival.

The weekend's opponent is facing turbulence behind the scenes. After the 2-1 defeat to Ceará last Tuesday (15), the relationship between Vasco fans and coach Fábio Carille has soured once and for all. Boos, protests and demands marked the week for the Cruzmaltino, who is trying to find his way amid the pressure.

On the night that Mais Querido defeated Juventude 6-0 at Maracanã, the focus ended up going beyond the result. After the interview with coach Filipe Luís, it was Danilo's turn to publicly position himself on the case involving Bruno Henrique. The striker is being investigated for alleged links to sports betting, after a message sent to his brother before the game against Santos, in 2023.

I hope everything is clarified..." - said Danilo

DANILO TALKS ABOUT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR AWARENESS

Danilo, who is enjoying a positive moment at the club, stressed that the situation, although delicate, should serve as a starting point for structural changes in Brazilian football. For him, it is necessary to look at the problem responsibly and, above all, seek solutions together . "The situation is much broader than it seems. We need to take this opportunity to rethink how clubs and federations act in this type of situation. Awareness has to start at the grassroots, with young athletes," said the defender in the mixed zone after the match.

AVOID JUDGMENTS AND SEEK DIALOGUE

Despite the seriousness of the case, Danilo stressed that it is not up to the athletes to judge. According to him, the moment calls for empathy and support, especially for those involved in the controversy. “What we can do is show affection. I hope everything is clarified, but Bruno deserves respect. He is a good person who helps others and has always shown himself to be a great professional,” he said.

Despite the impressive win, Bruno Henrique 's name continues to dominate the conversations behind the scenes at Gávea. The suspicion of match-fixing has generated tension among fans and stirred up the legal spheres of national football. The board of directors is following the case closely, but has not yet officially taken a position on possible punishments.

Amidst the tension, Danilo had reason to celebrate. The defender scored for the first time wearing the Mengão jersey, sealing a standout performance and celebrating his good individual moment. “I was very happy with the goal. It's always special to score in a stadium like Maracanã, even more so in front of our fans,” he said, with a smile on his face.

Flamengo thrashed Juventude 6-0 this Wednesday (09), in a match valid for the Brazilian Championship. With goals from Erick Pulgar, Gonzalo Plata, Danilo, Arrascaeta and two from Pedro, the team showed great technical superiority at Maracanã. The highlight of the night was precisely the number 9, who recently returned to the field after a long period of recovery.

It's a huge joy to be able to score again here at Maracanã..."

Pedro was named man of the match and celebrated not only the goals, but also the opportunity to play in front of the fans again. "I'm so happy to be able to score again here at Maracanã, to score again after a long time back on the pitch. Of course I'm still trying to find my best physical rhythm, but tonight was a very happy night," said the center forward, visibly emotional after the final whistle.

RECOVERED FROM A RUPTURED KNEE,

Flamengo 's forward officially returned to the field in the match against Central Córdoba, in the Libertadores. His last performance had been interrupted by a serious injury suffered during training with the Brazilian National Team. He spent more than seven months undergoing treatment after tearing his knee ligaments . His performance on the field has encouraged the coaching staff and the fans, who saw clear signs in Pedro that he can regain his offensive protagonism.

With two goals scored, Pedro is now one goal ahead of Juninho, who was hired to fill the gap left by Gabigol . The fight for a starting spot promises to heat up in the next few rounds, especially in light of the upcoming derby. The number 9's performance reopens the debate about who should lead the team's main attack in national and international competitions.

FLAMENGO RETURNS TO THE FIELD ON SATURDAY

Flamengo 's next match is scheduled for Saturday (19), at 6:30 pm, against Vasco, in a direct confrontation for the Brasileirão. The expectation is that Pedro will be kept among the starters, continuing the good phase and consolidating his return.
