Flamengo's planning for the stadium in Gasometer is increasingly elaborate. As reported by the newspaper O Globo, Rubro-Negro is not only after naming rights, but also plans to sell several sectors rights. The expression follows the same naming rights principle, but instead of the stadium's name, separate sectors of the arena.

In total, the club must sell more than nine sectors rights on Gasometer.

The objective is to sell:

-Two sectors behind the goals

-Two central ones

-Auditorium

-Room press conference

-Caamarotes

-VIP areas

Stadium corridors with other brands sponsors: Or In other words, based on just one box, one VIP area and one corridor, there will already be at least nine sales.

In a recent interview with Fla TV, president Rodolfo Landim highlighted the importance that these revenues will have for Flamengo to realize its dream of having its own stadium: “The name of the stadium is one of the things that will be able to bring in a lot of revenue from the sale of naming rights. So calm down, this is an important thing to make construction viable.”

Flamengo and Allianz talk about naming rights

If in the rights sectors there is nothing in progress , naming rights are not a standstill issue at Flamengo. In June, Lauro Jardim, from O Globo, reported that Landim had had a meeting with Allianz when he went to Europe to watch the game between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, in the Champions League final.

Flamengo could receive R$1 billion for the company to name the stadium for 25 years. In other words, it amounts to R$40 million annually, more than what is paid to Palmeiras by Allianz Parque. These are the stadiums that Allianz sponsors in football

-Allianz Arena (Bayern Munich): 75,024 – capacity

-Allianz Sydney Football Stadium (Sydney Roosters): 45,500 – capacity< /p>

-Allianz Parque (Palmeiras): 43,713 – capacity

-Allianz Stadium (Juventus): 41,507 – capacity

-Allianz Riviera (Nice): 35,000 – capacity

-Allianz Stadion (Rapid Vienna): 28,000 – capacity

-Allianz Field (Minnesota United): 19,400 – capacity

While talking to the German brand, Flamengo is awaiting the auction date to buy the land from Gasologista. The notice indicates the trading date for July 31st.

Several Uruguayan newspapers covered the tie between Flamengo and Vasco this Sunday (15). Among the main vehicles, “El País” and “Montevidéu Portal” highlighted that Luiz Araújo left the classic with a possible knee injury and could be absent for Rubro-Negro in the first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol, next Thursday (19).

Luiz Araújo played just 18 minutes in the classic. The attacker felt his knee after a challenge with a Vasco defender and even tried to continue on the field, but ended up being replaced by Arrascaeta. At half-time, Flamengo issued a statement informing that the player will be re-evaluated by the medical department at Ninho do Urubu. The squad will be presented again this Monday afternoon (16).

Uruguayan newspapers consider the possible absence of Luiz Araújo a big problem for Mengão. The athlete is a starter in Tite's team, with the most matches for Flamengo this season (50) and leader in assists (10).

The newspaper 'El País' classified the player as a key player for the team: “The injury to Luiz Araújo, one of the most important players in Mengão's squad, expands the list of injured players just a few days before the clash against Peñarol in the Copa Libertadores.”

The 'Montevideo Portal' followed the same line, highlighting the importance of the striker: “In addition to the result, another bad news for Peñarol's next rival in the Copa Libertadores it was the departure of Luiz Araújo. The fast right-winger, starter for Flamengo, felt pain in his right knee after a blow.”

Currently, Flamengo's medical department has five injured players: De La Cruz, Michael, Cebolinha, Viña and Pedro, with the trio formed by Cebolinha, Viña and Pedro only expected to return in 2025.

Expectations for De La Cruz in the game against Peñarol

While awaiting Luiz Araújo's diagnosis, coach Tite revealed, after the draw against Vasco, that he hopes to count on De La Cruz for the duel against Peñarol . According to the coach, the Uruguayan's presence could improve the effectiveness of the team, which has shown good performance in recent matches.

“In training, when he (De la Cruz) was leaving, I asked 'is there enough for 20? minutes?'. He smiled, because he couldn't. The physical department definitely said they were not in a position to do so. Not even him feeling well. Especially because you have to talk to the athlete, because then there is the charge. Hopefully, and I hope that he can be there on Thursday to reproduce today's performance, with greater effectiveness”, said Tite in the post-game press conference between Flamengo x Vasco.

New information has emerged about the legal impasse involving Caixa Econômica Federal and the Gasologista land, located in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro, where Flamengo's future stadium is planned. The state bank demands compensation of R$1.08 billion to free up the area for the club.
DEMANDS FROM CAIXA ECONÔMICA FEDERAL

According to the website Exame, Caixa is charging R$240 million for land ownership and R$840 million for air rights for the work, which would allow for an expansion of the construction potential of the stadium project. Only with the payment of this amount would the bank be willing to provide the site for construction.

In 2024, the City of Rio de Janeiro, led by Mayor Eduardo Paes, expropriated the Gasometer land. Mais Querido then acquired the area at an auction for R$146 million. However, Caixa Econômica challenged the transaction in court, triggering a long legal battle that has not yet been resolved.

ONGOING NEGOTIATIONS

To try to resolve the conflict, Flamengo, City Hall and Caixa are looking for an agreement that could put an end to the legal disputes. A deadline of mid-November this year was set for the parties to reach a consensus and make progress on the stadium project possible.
