Bruno Henrique, Flamengo striker, became the target of investigations into alleged manipulation of bets in Brazilian football. The player is suspected of having acted to benefit third parties during a match against Santos for the 2023 Brazilian Championship, in which he allegedly received a yellow card on purpose, according to information released this Tuesday (5).
The investigation indicates that family members and acquaintances of Mais Querido's number 27 would be involved in the scheme, previously betting on the athlete's punishment. The possible involvement of people close to Bruno Henrique would be an attempt to profit financially from the situation. CNN reported that the play in question occurred near the end of the match against Santos.

Jorge Kajuru, president of the CPI for Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting, officially expressed his opinion on the matter, confirming that Bruno Henrique will have to give a statement to the Commission. Kajuru highlighted that he was already aware of the case, which had been investigated by the Federal Police for some time. According to him, the repercussion was intensified by the fact that it involved Flamengo, one of the most popular clubs in the country.
Kajuru stated that he was waiting the latest details from the Federal Police before releasing the information to the public. "I already knew about the case and was waiting for the final details from the PF. The news spread throughout Brazil because it was about a much-loved Flamengo player, Bruno Henrique," he commented.
INCREASE IN BETTING VOLUME GETS ATTENTION FROM CPI
The president of the CPI explained that the unusual volume of bets on the match against Santos, all indicating a yellow card for Bruno Henrique, raised suspicions.
Kajuru highlighted that 98% of bets placed predicted the player's punishment, resulting in millionaire winnings for bettors. He highlighted that the bookmakers reported the situation to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), which then called the Federal Police to begin investigations in Ninho do Urubu, CT of CRF.
Kajuru declared that, despite it being a delicate case and involving a player admired by Mengão fans, he could not defend Bruno Henrique. “I can’t defend the player. The bookmakers are not to blame, they informed the CBF, and the Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance alerted the PF," concluded Kajuru.

In a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi spoke about his desire to be called up to the Argentina national team , the current world champion. Despite his dream, the goalkeeper made it clear that his priority remains Flamengo.

"I'm in no rush, because my job is for Flamengo , day to day, game to game. My biggest focus is to maintain this streak so that the call-up can come. Of course I have that desire, but I don't treat it as a requirement . I'm Flamengo's goalkeeper, I'm responsible for Flamengo. If the call-up comes, I'll welcome it," he added.
Since joining Flamengo in 2023, Rossi has already won four titles. Last season, he was a key player in the undefeated Carioca Championship and also played in the Copa do Brasil victory. In 2025, he maintained his starting spot in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Estadual . In total, he has represented Flamengo in 125 official matches, establishing himself as a pillar of the team.

Back in Brazilian football, Neymar still divides opinions about his future at Santos . During a debate on ESPN Brasil, former player Zinho compared the Santos number 10 to Flamengo's Arrascaeta , which sparked disagreement from Zé Elias. The former Mengão player stated that the Uruguayan wouldn't be able to perform at the São Paulo club.
