On Tuesday night (27), FIFA president Gianni Infantino used social media to highlight the Club World Cup trophy's visit to Flamengo 's headquarters in Gávea. In a post on Instagram, the director praised the tradition of the Rio de Janeiro club and wished them luck in their quest for yet another international title.

Flamengo will begin its Club World Cup campaign on June 16 , against Esperance from Tunisia. In the second round, the team will face Chelsea from England, in a match scheduled for June 20. The team will end its participation in the group stage on June 24, when it will face the winner of the match between Los Angeles FC and América from Mexico , who are competing for the last spot in the group.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano , Flamengo has already signed its first reinforcement for the competition in the United States. It is midfielder Jorginho , who recently said goodbye to Arsenal , in England, and is said to be in advanced negotiations with Mengão while his contract with the Gunners is still in force.
While waiting for the World Cup, Flamengo will have a very important commitment in the Libertadores . The Mais Querido enters the field this Wednesday (28) to face Deportivo Táchira at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) at Maracanã. Rubro-Negro needs the victory to guarantee qualification to the round of 16 of the competition and can even be first in the group, if LDU beats Central Córdoba.

Flamengo drew 0-0 with Cruzeiro last Thursday (2), in the 26th round of the Brasileirão. With no time to rest, the red-black squad returned this Friday (3) afternoon , at Ninho do Urubu, to begin preparations for the duel against Bahia. Training begins at 3:30 pm (Brasília time), under the command of Filipe Luís.
In a head-to-head clash at the top of the table, Flamengo and Cruzeiro played a tight match at the Maracanã. In the first half, the Minas Gerais team closed well, preventing any major scoring chances , and threatened the red-and-black team, which was saved by Rossi and Alex Sandro.
In the second half, after Filipe Luís's changes, Cruzeiro managed to create more opportunities, but failed to break down the opposing defense , with only two significant chances. Cruzeiro also barely threatened goalkeeper Rossi.
