Rodolfo Landim, president of Flamengo, stated that he will only discuss renewing Gabigol's contract in December . The player's current contract with the Rio de Janeiro club ends at the end of this year.

However, before that, Gabigol will be free to sign a pre-contract with any other team from July onwards. The director mentioned the departure of Everton Ribeiro, who ended up signing with Bahia, when recognizing the risk of losing the number 10 shirt at no cost.

"Gabriel's contract ends on December 31st, and from the On June 1st he has the freedom to sign with any other club. Flamengo has historically demonstrated on several occasions that they take their players' contracts to the end and renew them at the end. We did this with Diego Ribas, Diego Alves, Filipe Luís, Bruno Henrique, and they renewed with Flamengo. It happened, for example, that we made a proposal to Everton Ribeiro and he received a better offer on the market. We were unable to match that proposal and we wish him luck," he said in an interview with Rádio CBN .

AGREEMENT BETWEEN FLAMENGO AND GABI IN CHECK

In October last year, Gabigol had a verbal agreement to extend his contract with Flamengo until the end of 2028. However, neither side signed the new contract, which included a pay rise. At the beginning of this year, there was interest from Corinthians in the player, but negotiations did not progress due to financial issues. Landim assures that the Rio club will present a new proposal to the attacker.

"We are going to make a proposal. (...) Gabigol will have this opportunity for him to decide. So we can't talk about it unilaterally if we count with him or not. We will certainly want to count on him, but he may have other better opportunities than playing for Flamengo. It will be up to him to decide that", he said.

Wednesday (02) was marked by intense movements behind the scenes at Flamengo. Striker Pedro, the club's number 9, stood out in the news after rumors of a possible negotiation involving the player. The interest in his departure, initially published by the UOL portal, was promptly denied by the red-black board, which issued an official statement denying the story.

In addition to the repercussion of the news, Pedro stood out for a relevant feat: he is currently the only Brazilian player to have reached the mark of 70 or more goals in the last three years , consolidating his name as one of the most lethal in national football.

CLUB BOARD MAINTAINS POSITION

The club's initial position is to keep Pedro in the squad , with the player at coach Filipe Luís' disposal for the rest of the season. However, the board does not rule out evaluating offers that may be received for the striker, as well as for other players in the squad.

Internally, the board recognizes the athlete's value on the international scene and understands that a good offer could change future plans. The possible departure, however, would depend on financial and strategic factors , respecting the mutual interest between club and player.

PEDRO'S STAFF SEES FAVORABLE SCENARIO

While the club remains cautious, the player's staff is optimistic about the transfer market. As Coluna do Fla has learned, there is an expectation that foreign clubs will make offers for Pedro in the next transfer window, which could further increase speculation about a possible exit.

The striker's good moment, combined with his impressive numbers, means he is being closely watched by foreign clubs, especially in Europe and Saudi Arabia, markets that tend to move large numbers.

Flamengo's under-20 team was defeated by Red Bull Bragantino on Wednesday afternoon (2), at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium, in Bragança Paulista. In a match valid for the 16th round of the Brazilian Championship in the category, Mais Querido ended up defeated by 2 to 1, even after reducing the score with a penalty goal by defender and captain Iago.

The first half was marked by strong marking and high pressure from both sides, which made finishing difficult in the opening minutes. The first big chance came in the 18th minute, when Lucas Furtado launched a pass down the left , Gusttavo exchanged passes with Guilherme and crossed into the area. After a defense cut, Wanderson crossed again and Felipe Teresa finished just wide of the post.

FLAMENGO CREATES GOOD CHANCES

The Rio team responded in the 23rd minute, when Iago headed dangerously after a corner kick taken by Gusttavo, but the opposing defense prevented the goal on the line. The team led by Leonardo Ramos managed to impose itself in the midfield , with quick exchanges of passes and intense movement.

Still in the first half, Lucas Furtado was decisive in a shot by Luiz Gustavo, a Bragantino striker, at 38 minutes. Mengão's best opportunity in the period came in injury time: Shola prevented the ball from going out and served Gusttavo, who crossed to Pedro Leão , but the striker was unable to finish accurately in front of an empty goal.

RIVAL SCORES TWO QUICK GOALS AFTER HALF TIME

Just two minutes into the second half, Yuri Leles opened the scoring for the home team. Bragantino extended their lead with Cauê in the 14th minute, taking advantage of a defensive failure. Mengão responded in the 24th minute, after Gusttavo was awarded a penalty in a play created by Guilherme. Iago converted the shot with determination, displacing the goalkeeper to reduce the score.

Even with the goal, the São Paulo team continued to press. Lucas Furtado made important saves, including one from a lob shot by Luis Gustavo and another in the 36th minute , after a mid-range shot. Flamengo still had another chance with Felipe Teresa, who dribbled past the goalkeeper, but shot wide.

Roma have stepped up negotiations to sign Flamengo right-back Wesley . The Italian board is studying an alternative business model to close the deal , involving Everton from England, a club that also belongs to the Friedkin Group, which controls the team from the Italian capital.

Wesley's name was a direct request from Gian Piero Gasperini, Roma's new coach. The coach, who previously managed Atalanta , had already tried to take the player from Mais Querido in mid-2024.

Now, at the helm of the Roman club, Gasperini hopes to count on the full-back as soon as possible. According to reports, Roma have made an offer of 25 million euros (around R$160 million), an amount considered lower than the expectations of the Rio de Janeiro board, which is expecting at least 30 million euros.

FLAMENGO DIRECTOR ADMITS INTEREST FROM ROMA AND JUVENTUS

José Boto, the Rio de Janeiro club's football director, acknowledged in an interview with the Italian press that he is aware of the interest of clubs such as Roma and Juventus in the player . However, the director was emphatic in stating that Wesley will only be released if he receives an offer equal to or greater than 30 million euros.

The negotiation is being treated internally by Roma as a process that requires patience and caution, especially given the financial limitations imposed by UEFA fair play. The board is evaluating creative solutions to get around the regulatory obstacles.

ROMA OWNER GROUP ALSO CONTROLLING EVERTON

One solution would be to directly involve Everton, the Premier League club recently acquired by the Friedkin Group . The strategy under discussion envisages the English club signing Wesley directly, then transferring the player to Roma on loan. This would allow the Giallorossi to strengthen their squad without compromising their immediate financial balance.
